For the avoidance of doubt (since some have been asking), the 800 on the Scottish public payroll without proper jobs does NOT include the 129 MSPs in Holyrood 🤣🤣🤣
Astounding Sunday Times investigation reveals new scandal in SNP’s Socialist Scotland:
800 NHS, central government, council and quango workers whose jobs no longer exist but remain on the public payroll because of the SNP’s ‘no public-sector redundancy’ policy.
Estimated cost of paying people to do nothing: £27m a year.
One NHS Highland worker has been receiving a full salary and benefits for 17 years despite not having a specific job.
The health board refused to say what the worker had been doing for almost two decades and how much they had been paid.
Likely cost to the taxpayer is expected to be far higher with several public bodies refusing to disclose salaries for hundreds of the workers awaiting redeployment.

Usual pattern
✅Energy companies see low wind period
✅ Gas gens game the market declare themselves unavailable
✅NESO issues margin notice
✅Fossil lobby whips up hysteria and talks of blackouts
✅ Gas generators suddenly available
✅Gas generators make a fortune
✅ We pay

Without wishing to sound like a broken record...this is still totally unsustainable!!

Can’t we just close Holyrood down and agree it was all just a terrible expensive mistake? Look at the state of this — and this guy thinks he should be first minister!

Spitfire engine: where is this RR Merlin now? During the 1970s, this Spitfire engine was recovered from its crash site near Westmeston, East Sussex, and transferred to the (then) Warnham War Museum run by the late Joe Lyndhurst. Its pilot, who baled out, was Sgt 'Robbie' Robertson of 72 Sqn, Biggin Hill, father of @blackrauthor When the museum closed, the engine disappeared. A long shot, but does anyone know where it ended up? Was it sold? Transferred to a private collector? Scrapped? It certainly wasn't among the artefacts later transferred to Tangmere Museum, but having found these images reminded me to ask around. Not brilliant pics, but in one it is possible to see the prop hub still attached to the front - quite unusual in wrecks of this nature.
BBC Headlines with ‘record temperature of 38°C in England today’. Meanwhile elsewhere in the UK it’s 21° less than that, still waiting for summer to arrive. 🤦🏻♂️

Even if this were barren wasteland, there is zero point building grid-level solar 'between Perth and Dundee'. Similar latitude to Moscow, Riga, Edmonton. Less than five percent of the theoretical capacity will ever be delivered, all of it in summer when it's not needed
This film shows some of the countryside which could be plastered in solar panels if plans for the UK’s biggest solar farm are approved between Perth and Dundee on beautiful prime farmland in the Carse of Gowrie. It spans approximately 2,000 acres - equivalent to approximately 1,200 to 1,250 football pitches. Absolutely disgraceful. Rural vandalism.

Scotland raised its top income tax rate to 48% to make the rich pay more.
New HMRC data suggests the result may have been the opposite: Scotland collected about £22m less.
We can't be sure, but Scotland may have fallen over the Laffer curve.
