🔥 BREAKING Two Russian Geran jet drones were shot down over the Black Sea by Romanian F-16s on Saturday evening, and now the cockpit photos are out. NATO pilots, NATO airspace, Russian flying junk burning in front of them. THE TIMELINE • Radar picked up a group of air targets about 120 km east of Snake Island, tracking southwest • Two F-16s from Air Base 86 Borcea, on air policing duty, scrambled at 17:43 on 17 October • First drone downed at 18:01, southeast of Sulina, two minutes after it entered Romanian airspace • Second drone downed at 18:05, east of Sulina, five minutes after it crossed in Both kills happened over Romanian territorial waters, inside national airspace. Four minutes between the two. A clean, fast job. THE PHOTOS The Romanian Defence Ministry published images shot from inside a fighter cockpit. A dense column of black smoke with fire at its base. Scattered bright points that look like an airborne detonation. Pilot's helmet and canopy frame in the foreground, the missile hanging off the wing, the sea turning gold in the dusk light. The Ministry's caption was short: Romanian soldiers are on duty every day for our safety. WHAT THIS TELLS US Russia keeps feeding its Geran swarms toward the Danube delta and the Romanian coast, and each time the same thing happens. The drones cross into a NATO state, the radar sees them, the jets go up. It keeps happening. In August two F-16s intercepted an explosive-laden sea drone near the Neptun Deep gas platform, and in September a Geran-4 flew roughly 500 km across Moldova and Romania at 7 to 8 km altitude before running out of fuel. Romania's response is getting sharper with every violation, and this time it ended with two clean kills and cockpit footage for the world to watch. Moscow tests the edge of NATO territory because it assumes nobody will pull the trigger. Two Romanian pilots just answered that assumption with missiles.
