Reminded strongly today of T S Eliot's quote: “Nothing pleases people more than to go on thinking what they have always thought, and at the same time imagine that they are thinking something new and daring: it combines the advantage of security and the delight of adventure.”
A table came up with a new way to do backlog refinement and now the workshop is over they are pulling the rest of their team in to show it off. I call that a big success!!!
Finding it really strange to facilitate a workshop and when I walk between the tables I have no idea what they are discussing 😅

Probably the best thing you'll see today.
In 2017, a group of developers hilariously competed for who could create worst volume control interface in the world.

There is in German: the Vorführeffekt, or ‘demonstration effect’. It’s the way your broken washing machine magically starts working when the technician appears, or your child’s hacking cough disappears completely the moment you walk into the doctor’s.

When I was leading the transformation at Athenahealth, two McKinsey analysts just out of school tried to get me to tell them everything I had done so they could take credit for it in their report to the board. I refused.
These people have no idea what product management is.
5 years ago I was privileged to help the grandfather of Scrum in South Africa facilitate a CSM. Feels a lot longer ago than that. Forever grateful for the opportunity that set me well on my way to growing my competency as a trainer.
And thanks to @Biased77 for taking me to the next level.
One thing I learnt early on in life as an introvert: if you want your family/friends to buy/give you things you actually want, you have to let them know what you are passionate about. There’s loads of people out there that want to gift you stuff but wouldn’t know you care.

I know 98% of people I speak to are not ready to break away from the "safety" of the current agile certification paradigm.
I'm prepared for a lot of "no thank yous" because the 2% that are brave enough will join a tribe who will really shake things up.
Because Mastery Matters.
