Deeply saddened by the passing of Jaroslav Brůžek, a remarkable biological anthropologist and leading expert in sex estimation based on the pelvic bone. He was a mentor and my gateway to French and Czech academia. His loss leaves a lasting void.

In addition to the great papers posted in the comments, the Oxford English Dictionary says "In chemistry the -f- spelling is now the standard form in all related words in the field in both British and US contexts."
So when it comes to isotope papers lets stick with sulfur!
