💰 In April 2002, $SKHY Korean manufacturer Hynix was drowning in debt. Micron offered about $3.4B in stock for its DRAM memory business. The Hynix board voted unanimously, "no".
A decade later, telecom giant SK acquired Hynix, who experimented with AMD to build the first version of the modern HBM-wired GPU. For years it barely sold. Samsung competed but exited the market in 2019.
When AI arrived in 2024, @NVDA needed this new type of HBM memory and $SKHY was the perfect partner. Today it makes about 60% of the world's HBM, it's worth more than $1T, and in July it listed on Nasdaq as $SKHY.
Sometimes a "no" is the best thing that can happen to you.

Perpetual futures work best in markets with highly liquid spot venues that move in lines (not jumps) for orderly liquidations.
Many builders are trying to stack novel metrics on top of HIP-3 or perps models that don't fit that description.
Do they know something the rest of us don't know?

Built a more detailed HIP-3 Deployer Auction explorer, Owlscan's isn't very detailed. Looks like we had some attempted deploys that were immediately delisted with 0 trades - GME, GDXJ, SILJ, & Gold/Silver from @tradexyz @ventuals @Dreamcash.
Could be oracle or market-making issues, HIP-3s aren't easy. Fun fact - they're down a combined ~$174K in auction fees that they won't get back (diff from 500k HYPE req)
