New Chem Comm paper on light activated HCN donors! We expand different linkages compatible with responsive HCN release, using direct HCN measurements to understand efficiency & selectivity. Great work Ally! doi.org/10.1039/d6cc03475f
Versatile nonheme Fe(II) persulfide intermediates can be oxidized to achieve sulfide oxidation or reduced to construct ubiquitous Fe–S clusters. We devise a new strategy to prepare a long-sought-after synthetic model for such species and demonstrate its reductive chemistry!
New @ChemRxiv preprint: A Structural Model for Mononuclear Fe(II) Alkyl Persulfide Intermediates and its Sulfide Release Chemistry.
Includes synthesis, characterization, and reactivity of a mononuclear Fe-SSR species. Great work Keyan (@keyanl10)! chemrxiv.org/doi/full/10.264…

Glad to see this work with Mike in @ACSChemRev ! Nature has long recognized the versatility of persulfides as tools in redox biology and as synthons for S-containing cofactors. Check it out if you’re interested in their bioinorganic chemistry and synthetic analogues.
Excited to share our Chem Rev on the bioinorganic chemistry of persulfides! Includes biological chemistry, bioinorganic models, inorganic systems, & isolable S/Se compounds.
A huge congrats to Keyan (@keyanl10) for this heroic undertaking! pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/acs…

Do ‘gasotransmitters’ need to be gases? Andy makes the case in Redox Biology for Protic Small Molecule Bioregulators (PSMBs): a cross-cutting class of small molecules where protonation states impact biological speciation, permeability, & action. @agdavis98 doi.org/10.1016/j.redox.2025…
Excited to share this work with wundergrad Addison in @angew_chem where we showcase the synthetic utility of contact-ion stabilized RSSe- for metal thioselenides, the use of 77Se NMR to probe S-Se bond polarization, and insights into thiolate persulfidation on nucleophilicity
Curious about the impacts of Lewis acids on persulfide & thioselenide chemistry? Check out Keyan & Addison’s paper using isolated ZnSSR & ZnSeSR complexes to directly study reactivity. Lots of insights from 77Se NMR & XRD! @keyanl10 @angew_chem onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/…
