After over a month, we’ve finally made it to another soccer match! Tonight we’re watching CU Boulder against Cincinnati.
A little update on our weekend plans: We’re going to the CU football game tomorrow and the Broncos game on Sunday!
Unfortunately, we won’t make it to the Avalanche game tomorrow night. We really want to experience Halloween in America, so we’ve decided to spend the evening walking through the neighborhoods to check out all the decorated houses and enjoy the Halloween atmosphere.

It's a Friday, and so another week without a routine news briefing at the Pentagon has come to a close.
The Hegseth team has avoided briefing the American public there since *May 5.*
That'll be six months next week.

It’s Friday night and just wanna pause and say how joyful, proud and ineffably grateful I am for all of you busting your ass to save democracy.
So know as I scarf down his chocolate martini, I’m doing it in your name.

This World Series photo is one of the best sports photos I have ever seen, but the process behind how it was captured might be even more interesting.
No, it wasn't done with AI or a drone.
Here's what you need to know...
Mike Carlson and Carmen Mandato took this photo, and Carlson broke down the process on Instagram.
He says they go up on the catwalk before games to install a series of cameras mounted in different positions — looking at home plate, the mound, etc.
But since photographers can't sit on the catwalk during games (and also have to take other photos), Carlson and Mandato install a trigger to help take photos remotely.
The way it works is simple: When Carlson and Mandato take photos with their handheld camera in the outfield, the catwalk camera also takes a photo.
The catwalk camera is also connected to a network, so it automatically sends the photo to an editor.
This is similar to the process NBA photographers use to get those popular "spotlight effect" photos.
But instead of mounting their camera on a catwalk in the arena, NBA photographers use a trigger to activate the strobe lights most NBA arenas have installed in the rafters. Most people never notice the strobe light going off, but once you do, you'll notice it every time.
Super interesting.

My final pitch for voting for a Democratic Senator:
Thomas is 78. Alito is 76. If we get to 51 Senators, it blocks them from resigning. Then they're in their 80s by 2030.
Every Senator elected gives us a chance to save the nation. I don't care if you like them or not.

For anyone who needs to see this, this was the Kennedy Center on Saturday, Sept. 5, 2026: Still beautiful, elegant, President Kennedy's memorial, and a reminder that freedom of expression is essential to democracy.
It was not "falling down" or "decrepit.”

This exhausted-looking Barn Owl is one of 5 young owls on Manhattan’s UWS. Their family’s nesting site was dismantled yesterday — illegally — putting these vulnerable owls at risk!
They deserve protection, not displacement! Let’s give them back their home!🦉💕

Bosque del Apache NWR lives forever in my heart. It is a holy place. I've watched Sandhill Cranes and Snow Geese, among hundreds of other birds there. I pray that it survives this evil, nihilistic regime.

A bull moose walks & calls out several times. This was taken long before the rut started so it’s just standard moose talk.

We had another 3+ hour hearing today that centered on 1 question: can we trust what the DoI and DoJ attorneys have said in a court of law?
The conclusion to anyone who has two brain cells to rub together is obviously not, but now we are getting a formal legal investigation into the question.
Our system runs on a presumption of regularity - that the government will act in good faith. But here, and in countless other cases, they have shown that not to be the case. They are more concerned with giving their boss, the President of the United States, a glitzy new golf course than following the law.
However you look at this issue, the government's behavior has been repugnant and is a stain on the NPS.
But without a doubt, the greatest stain is the ongoing Herculean effort to steal a cherished public park from the people. To steal a PUBLIC PARK and gift it to the President to build a f**king golf course.
