A great moment for Serbia.
Vučić has been defeated.
People are celebrating on the streets.
This is how the majority of us in London feel.
(Of course, over here we are all communists and Islamic terrorists. A strange mix. But if you can believe that the Nazi Party was socialist, I can also understand your confusion.)

"Eye in the Sky."
Starring Helen Mirren. She doesn't need to do anything but good films. It's about collateral damage and the decisions that are taken.
It's a commercial film, glossy and designed to tug your heart.

Dublin in the 1890s.
Imagine the clatter of hooves as a horse-drawn fire engine comes thundering through the streets, people quickly making way as the firemen race to an emergency.
This was a Dublin of horse-drawn trams, carts and carriages, when the streets echoed with horses' hooves and iron-rimmed wheels.

One of the great coincidences in finance:
In 1952 Harry Markowitz published "Portfolio Selection." It became the foundation of modern asset management. The idea is that you optimize a diversified basket of assets along an efficient frontier by claiming to know what the currently “efficient” part of the frontier is (even though no one actually knows which assets will perform most efficiently in the future).
That same year a British actuary named Frank Redington published "Review of the Principles of Life-Office Valuations." It showed how institutions could immunize their liabilities by matching them with assets across time. It became the foundation of institutional asset-liability matching. Almost nobody outside of insurance and banking knows it.
The interesting thing is institutions adopted Redington because matching assets to liabilities is just the sensible way to manage cash flows. Meanwhile the industry sold Markowitz to retail investors….

Oh dear, how sad. (Story link below.)
Meanwhile: on what planet is a *Microsoft* operated data centre "sovereign AI"? Does anyone other than (presumably) the unlamented Keir Starmer believe this?
I see that GB News (the most popular and trusted news source in the UK) is about to launch a radio station:-
"dedicated exclusively to artists from Great Britain and Northern Ireland."
British artists should be supported, of course..
But what is this damn thing?

I think this might be the first time in American history you’ve seen a Muslim candidate demonstrate a part of their prayer in an ad like this.
In response to attacks about his faith, Abdul doubles down on who he is.
Takes courage to do this.
This performance of Bohemian Rhapsody organised by Julien Cohen in a Paris square still takes my breath away. Yes, it's organised (professional musicians and actors) but otherwise it is genuine street theatre.
