When oh when is this blot on the landscape going to be demolished. With so many windows smashed, and broken glass likely to fall in high winds, it’s a real danger to people. #LookUpBirmingham

Storm Austen becomes the first named storm of the 2026/27 season. Likely to bring gales and storm force winds to SW and southern coastal areas late Thursday into Friday. 20-30mm of rain too, probably double that over western hills.

Please can the @MayorWestMids remember that the re-build of the #EastEnders set cost well over £80 million. #thearchers studio will cost a fraction of that at the new @bbcwm Digbeth HQ in #Birmingham. – at Warwick, England

Pebble Mill was iconic, free PR for Birmingham every day. It could have sat as a heritage building at the centre of a network of production sites around WM, it was our Broadcasting House. Our local political class just didn't fight hard enough for it.
