A Better Water Supply for Gadap Town!
Mayor @murtazawahab1 inaugurates Saleh Muhammad Water Pumping Station in Malir, improving water supply to surrounding localities, including Memon Goth, Jafar Tayyar, Khokhrapar and Firdous Colony.
With upgraded infrastructure and an activated chlorination centre, Karachi’s water supply network continues to improve.

1938 میں کراچی کے میئر حاتم علوی نے آنکھوں کے جس اسپتال کا سنگِ بنیاد رکھا اور 1940 میں میئر رستم خورشیدجی سدھوا نے جس کے دروازے کھولے، آج میئر مرتضیٰ وہاب کے دور میں اس کی بحالی کراچی کی خدمت کے اُسی سفر کا تسلسل ہے۔
لیاری ٹاؤن میں ڈاکٹر کے این اسپینسر کا قائم کردہ اور کراچی میٹروپولیٹن کارپوریشن کے زیرِ انتظام یہ اسپتال کبھی افغانستان اور ایران سے آنے والے مریضوں کے لیے بھی بینائی کی امید تھا، ایسے ادارے اجڑیں تو صرف ان کے چراغ نہیں بجھتے، شہر کا اپنی تاریخ اور اپنے محسنوں سے رشتہ بھی ماند پڑنے لگتا ہے۔
اسپینسر آئی اسپتال کی بحالی کراچی کو اُس کی اپنی بنیادوں سے دوبارہ جوڑنے کا عہد ہے، تین ماہ قبل بی بی آصفہ بھٹو زرداری کا یہاں آنا بھی اسی عزم کا اظہار تھا، حاتم علوی، رستم خورشیدجی سدھوا اور ڈاکٹر اسپینسر کی خدمت اس شہر کی امانت ہے، ہم چاہتے ہیں کہ کراچی کی اگلی نسل ان ناموں کو صرف تاریخ کی کتابوں میں نہ پڑھے بلکہ ان کی خدمت کو ایک ایسے زندہ ادارے میں دیکھے جہاں ہر آنے والے کی آنکھوں کی روشنی قیمتی ہے۔
