apparently, Possible Love got multiple nominations at the Blue Dragon Film Awards (one of Korea's biggest film award ceremonies) but was left out of Best Picture and Best Director at Lee Chang-dong request. he's boycotting it because the awards are organized and backed by a major conservative newspaper. as if i needed another reason to love him more.

I Have No Mouth And I Must Scream has to be one of the most larped pieces of media of all time. People always talk about it as if it's this huge sprawling universe with loads of lore. It's a short story that you can read in ten minutes.

this take is so funny because it's a legitimately awful adaptation, literally speedruns through the entire second half of the book and is a nightmare to actually watch

Even with its flaws, Dune (1984) felt closer to the weird, imaginative world Herbert created. It had its own identity, personality, and memorable moments that Villeneuve's adaptations lack.

People really started acting like James Gray isn't a lesser Jeff Nichols just because he used an actual block in Queens and made Miles Teller talk in a dead accent. Paper Tiger is not winning Best Picture.
