The U.S. goes 2-for-2 in men's freestyle on Day 1 at #SeniorWorlds, as @BoBassett06 and @Snyder_man45 each qualify for Friday's finals.
What do you think of Magomedov's challenge against Bassett? Up 12-8, it gave him a short break but also cost him the decisive point in what ended up being a 14-13 loss.
Bo Freaking Bassett!!!! The Machine Gun Mindset overocomes a nine-point second-period deficit to beat Russia’s Abasgadzhi Magomedov 14-13 and advance to the 65-kilogram semifinals at #SeniorWorlds!
Bo Bassett's up next against Russia’s Abasgadzhi Magomedov at #SeniorWorlds on Mat B.
Another youngster wins for @Pitt_WRES, as Bode Marlow beats Dylan Evans - who won two matches at NCAAs last year 4-1 in SV at 174. Evans is up two weight classes from March. #H2P
At 149, Eugene Harney uses a 2nd-period takedown for a 4-1 victory over Kal Miller in a battle of NCAA qualifiers at @Pitt_WRES Blue-Gold Match. #H2P
Freshman Santino Sloboda beats returning NCAA qualifier Tyler Chappell 3-2 in TB-2 in 125-pound bout at @Pitt_WRES's Blue-Gold Match. Not much scoring, but great scrambles, with the freshman winning the only one to result in a reversal, 8:45 into the match.
Johnstown-area native @BoBassett06 takes the first match in a best-of-3 series with Real Woods, 8-4. Bassett dominated the action and is now one win away from making the U.S. Senior World Team.
This looks awesome!

Huge win for Kooper Deputy of @WrestlingRidge, as he techs European champion Huseyn Rzazade of Azerbaijan 12-1 in the U17 Freestyle World Championships. Kooper will face Ukraine’s Volodymyr Boiko later this a.m. with a spot in bronze-medal match on the line.
Kooper Deputy of @WrestlingRidge was a split-second from making it to the semifinals at the world championships in Azerbaijan. Instead, he'll try to come back for a bronze medal tomorrow.
