π§ KOKOMO BOIL WATER ADVISORY EXTENDED ANOTHER 24 HOURS!
β οΈ IMPORTANT: THIS ADVISORY APPLIES ONLY TO THE AFFECTED AREA β NOT ALL OF KOKOMO!
UPDATE β Monday, November 2, 12:47 p.m.
Indiana American Water has issued another notification advising that the boil water advisory resulting from Sunday evening's major water main break has been EXTENDED FOR AN ADDITIONAL 24 HOURS.
The advisory is restricted to customers within the affected service area. This is NOT a citywide boil water advisory.
According to Indiana American Water:
π§ Water used for drinking or cooking must be brought to a rolling boil for 3 minutes before use.
π§ Water remains safe for bathing, washing, and other common household uses.
π§ The advisory remains in effect until Indiana American Water officially announces it has been lifted.
WHAT AREAS ARE AFFECTED?
The original water main break occurred near Gray Rock Lane and Boulder Way in the Boulders West subdivision.
Residents in several surrounding neighborhoods, including Cobblestone and Urbandale, reported water outages or extremely low pressure overnight.
We have not received confirmation of the exact boundaries of the advisory.
If you experienced a water outage or extremely low pressure overnight, please continue taking precautions until you can confirm whether your address is included.
If your water service was not affected, that does not automatically mean you are under the advisory.
Indiana American Water says affected customers will be notified when the advisory is lifted.
For official information about the affected area, visit Indiana American Water's website and select Alerts, or call 800-492-8373.
Again, this advisory is for a specific affected area of Kokomo, NOT the entire city.
