Following the 7.6 magnitude earthquake that struck Panama on 9 October, Red Cross teams are supporting affected communities across the country.
Nearly 30 tonnes of humanitarian aid have been dispatched from @IFRC's Panama Humanitarian Hub to the hardest-hit areas in Los Santos, Herrera and Veraguas. Relief kits have arrived at the Panama Red Cross @CruzRojaPanama branch in La Villa and are being distributed to families impacted by the disaster.

Residential areas, markets and areas sheltering displaced populations have been particularly affected, with hundreds of people reportedly killed.
We urge all sides to take into account the foreseeable humanitarian consequences of using armed drones, particularly in populated areas.
