YPR–CSDR Doubling Project: New Parcel Office Inaugurated at Yeshwantapur Bengaluru | 22 October 2026 The Yeshwantapur–Channasandra (YPR–CSDR) 21.70 km Doubling Track Project, executed by KRIDE/Bi-RIDE, achieved another significant milestone with the inauguration of a new Parcel Office at Yeshwantapur on 22 October 2026. The facility was inaugurated by Shri Ashutosh K. Singh, Divisional Railway Manager (DRM), Bengaluru Division, South Western Railway, and Shri Lakshman Singh, Managing Director, KRIDE/Bi-RIDE. The newly inaugurated Ground floor has been handed over to Indian Railways (IR) to facilitate the efficient handling of increased parcel traffic. The new RRI cum Parcel Office is designed to enhance parcel-handling capacity, improve operational efficiency and facilitate the smooth movement of goods. The newly constructed Building comprises of G+4 stories out of 4 stories G+3 is meant for parcel related work and one floor is dedicated for S&T, RRI work operation. Once the balance floor work of building will be completed it will provide essential infrastructure for the systematic management of parcel-related activities. The facility is also expected to help ease road traffic congestion around the Yeshwantapur railway premises by enabling better organisation of parcel handling, loading and unloading operations, and the movement of goods vehicles. More systematic management of these activities is expected to minimise vehicle queuing and roadside obstructions, improve access to railway premises and facilitate smoother traffic circulation in the surrounding area. The inauguration of the new Parcel Office marks an important infrastructure improvement under the YPR–CSDR Doubling Project. The facility is expected to support more efficient railway operations, strengthen parcel-handling capabilities and contribute to improved traffic management in the Yeshwantapur area.
