That’s from Global Affairs Canada’s own report. $1.1 billion on hotel rooms for asylum claimants since 2017, according to IRCC. Another $1.5 billion sent to provinces and cities to house them. Ottawa just confirmed it recovered zero dollars from the SDTC green fund mess. Auditor General found $59 million went to projects that weren’t even eligible and another ~$76 million tied to conflict-of-interest votes. Call it $135 million of taxpayer money that shouldn’t have left the building. The government’s answer? Recovery is “not in the public interest.” They shut the fund down. They did not get the money back. Meanwhile regular Canadians who were overpaid benefits got clawed back with interest. Different rules for different people. #cdnpoli
