The hard truth about building any company is that your real moat is invisible: it’s whether your team believes staying with you is the highest-leverage use of their subsequent years. Most firms obsess over client acquisition and “agency ops”, then quietly burn through the very people who built their reputation. Underpay, over-demand, hoard, and act surprised when their best disappear. I built Surgence Labs with a different approach: pay well, share upside, shield your team from chaos, and give them authorship over their work. Our churn rate has been minute. Most of the team has been here since the early days, and they are the reason we can run complex GTM programs at scale. Building a resilient company involves ensuring that the smartest people in the room review your culture, incentives, and behaviour, and consistently decide that this is where they want to remain. Going into 2026, I’m not focusing on headcount. My only goal is to strengthen the existing moat: giving the current team more space, more ownership, and more potential as we become sharper, more efficient, and more effective together. We've achieved consistent growth and revenue increases each year, and we can't wait to do the same in 2026 with the best team in the industry of dedicated strategists, marketers, community builders, Defi architects, KOL managers, and a generally top-notch team of goats.
