If this is true it’s a HUGE indictment of McDavid and Drai.
The days of needing a Roy/Brodeur to win Cups are long gone.
If your top 2 Cs include the best player on earth and another perennial Hart/Ross threat then it should be fine if your goalie is a 6.
Goaltending needs to be better but the fanbase grossly, and I mean GROSSLY disrespects Skinner for things he's not at fault for.
If there was a scale, 0 being desperate to trade, 10 being an elite goalie, and 7 being the standard Edm wants, Skinner sits at a 5-6. He's treated as a 0-1.
As for management. Solutions were available until the 2025 offseason. There is none now. Edm forced themselves into a pickle. They've improved defensively and their goalie coach this offseason. They also continue to put extensive resources into finding a solution in net including a trade and a change in PK systems.
To win a cup, you need that standard 7. You can't acquire anything less. Taking anything that moves will make things worse, not better. Lastly, I 100% do think Skinner can help win Edm a cup. I also think an upgrade would make that easier. Thanks for listening.

Fun fact: did you know that if you've booked a plane trip with @WestJet with a reasonable one-hour layover, they can unilaterally change your ticket without explanation to make that layover twenty-one and a half hours.
And then, they can refuse to provide you with any meal or hotel vouchers and instead just expect you to sit in the Detroit Airport for an entire day to wait for not the earliest available flight (that's only twelve hours away), just the one they feel like putting you on.
The receptionist kept putting me on hold to speak to her manager but, per the way these things go, when I asked to speak to the manager she explained there was no manager and no one I could possibly talk to.
I explained that, with nowhere to sleep and not a lot to do that I would be devoting my night to seeing just how many customers I could lose WestJet from my Twitter account. I asked the receptionist if maybe she should see if that was okay with her manager; that was when the whole "no manager" thing came out.
