STORY TIME: Had a blast seeing @nineinchnails last night in Newark with Mom! Her first time seeing them, and our first concert together since Green Day in 2005! We were supposed to see them together with Soundgarden back in 2014, but than plan fell through and she couldn’t attend. Over the years, that decision has upset her greatly since Cornell passed away, because that 2014 show I saw without her ended up being Soundgarden’s last NJ show ever. For years, I’ve wanted to make up for her missing that show. So this past Xmas as I was shopping around online, I saw that NIN was going on tour, and not only that, a stop in NEWARK! 10 minutes from our house?! I couldn’t pass this chance up. So I snagged the best possible tickets I could (upper deck side stage, best view IMO) and when she opened that Xmas card and read the message inside, “2 TICKETS; NINE INCH NAILS; 2/14 IN NEWARK; WE ARE GOING!” she couldn’t hav been more excited. See in the last few years, she had a giant health scare. A big open heart surgery kept her in the hospital for 2 months back in 2021, missing both Thanksgiving and Xmas. Life and diet changes had to be put in place, so I was a bit weary of how she would be able to withstand being at a loud rock show. But let me tell you, if you saw how excited, loud, and into the show she was, you would never have thought that this person was laying on a hospital bed with her chest ripped open with bad heart valves, TWICE IN A ROW! I’m glad that you enjoyed yourself last night Mom. Here’s to the next concert! Let’s not miss anymore, shall we? #NINEINCHNAILS #HEADLIKEAHOLE
