We have become aware of scam emails that invite authors to participate in the 2026 festival for a fee. Featured authors/speakers are never asked to pay a participation fee. Legitimate invitations are only sent from library.la.gov or state.lib.la.us addresses.
Each year #louisianabookfest commissions a LA artist to provide the official artwork for the event. For 2026, visual artist and writer Malaika Favorite created the signature piece, titled PATH TO ENIGHTENMENT, incorporating works of each LA Writer Award recipient in the design.
