Hello X. It’s been a bit, but I come with news.
Fired up to announce I’ll be covering Ohio State sports for @11W! Excited to head to Columbus full time at the start of August and begin.
Grateful to @Dan_Hope, @chaseabrown__ and the rest of the team for the opportunity.
Following an exhibition against Cincinnati and a secret scrimmage vs. Louisville, Jake Diebler said Ohio State has improved its “resiliency and toughness and grit.”
But the Buckeyes still have work to do when it comes to rebounding.

Ryan Day last night:
-Julian Sayin is out indefinitely.
-Luke Fahey and Tavien St. Clair will see reps with the ones, but Day made it clear Fahey is ahead of St. Clair on the depth chart.
-Didn’t outright say Fahey will start vs. USC, but that is the expectation right now.
Luke Fahey is in line to start against USC, but you can’t count out Tavien St. Clair yet.
St. Clair said last year that he's willing to wait "however long it takes" for his moment at Ohio State.
It could soon arrive if he capitalizes on his opportunity.

Ja’Kobi Jackson was limping pretty bad on the way to the locker room postgame against Maryland. Needed assistance from the railing.
Update on his status here:
Ja’Kobi Jackson underwent surgery for a Lisfranc injury but hopes to return by the Michigan game, a source told Eleven Warriors. elevenwarriors.com/ohio-stat…
Julian Sayin is out indefinitely and is “doubtful” to return in the regular season for Ohio State.
Ryan Day said Luke Fahey is ahead of Tavien St. Clair but both quarterbacks will get a lot of reps this week.

Got roughly a 30-minute look at men’s hoops practice today.
Lots of defensive work, so Jared Sullinger, who hits a mid-range jumper here, got plenty of looks at the hoop like his former playing days at Ohio State.
Keyshawn Woods was running point guard for the scout team.
Ryan Day has had Dwayne Haskins, Justin Fields and C.J. Stroud be first-round picks. Will Howard won a national title.
At Ohio State, Day has a track record of developing quarterbacks.
But with Luke Fahey starting, Day has his biggest test yet.

Ryan Day: "I don't love bye weeks because being idle for a week is not ideal. That being said, I do think everything going on with Julian being down and getting our guys healthy, I think it does come at a good time, so I think there's definitely a benefit for this week for us."
Ryan Day on Luke Fahey:
"He comes in every day prepared. I think he has the respect of the team, and now he's going to be thrust into a bigger role."
Ryan Day on 97.1 The Fan says there's no update on Julian Sayin right now, and he is still going through testing. Reiterated that it’s going to be “at least several weeks.”
Who is Luke Fahey?
Ohio State’s new starting quarterback threw for over 7,000 yards for Mission Viejo High School, shocked many by winning the backup job and grew up an Ohio State fan.
Get to know Fahey:

Jeremiah Smith said it’s “going to take time” to build his on-field rapport with Luke Fahey in light of Julian Sayin’s injury.
But Ohio State doesn’t have that luxury of waiting for Smith’s connection with Fahey to blossom.

Ohio State earned its win over Indiana in a game that took all 60 minutes.
But the Buckeyes now have Julian Sayin sidelined, leaving uncertainty for what the rest of the year looks like.
On the state of the program and what comes next.

At one point Luke Fahey might not have been the backup. Now he’s Ohio State’s starting QB with Julian Sayin hurt.
The California kid, who has a “certain moxie,” will make his first start in two weeks vs. USC.
“He's going to be a heck of a player.”

Handful of plays from Jay Timmons today in his return from injury. Ohio State clearly missed his presence.
“That’s a dub,” he said walking off the field.
Jeremiah Smith said he was “upset” that he wasn’t in for the first 3 plays on the score at the end of the half, but it “didn’t matter” because Ohio Stare ended up scoring with Bo Jackson
