Two players reached appearance milestones in @LincolnCity_FC 1-3 defeat to @BCFC
Said to top man Bubs could he get them both in the same photo and he obliged!

Game was played at John O’Gaunts but trouble at a Lincoln Grimsby game ? Find that hard to believe !
31st October 1885 - Grimsby beat Lincoln City 2-0 at the Cow Paddle in the FA Cup 1st Round. There's trouble after though as angry City fans besiege the visiting dressing room. The Town players are eventually freed by visiting dockers brandishing sticks and lumps of timber. #GTFC
Early days yet for this new venture so will be interesting to see what treasures relating to Imps history can be unearthed.
City Legend. Full Stop. International honours were to follow but club honours at the time 🤔
Bonus player profile time!

Remembering a former Imp. Just 12 FL2 and 1 FACup app for City in 1899/1900 Had previously won both the Scottish League and Scottish FA Cup whilst at Celtic
Hard to believe this is nearly 46 years ago. Great excitement the Imps were going to be on Match of the Day and this was all that was shown !

First home win of the season at the 6th attempt (club record before 1st home FL win is 9) and three very well deserved points for @LincolnCity_FC with Nicky Hayen becoming the 2nd manager this season to be sacked after a defeat to City.

It was a surprise on Monday when @MillwallFC announced the attendance for Saturdays game against @LincolnCity_FC set a new Football League record for the New Den. It might not last long unlike the other times City have been the opponents when a FL attendance record was set.
Sad to read of the passing of former Imp John Vaughan. When John made his Imps Football League debut, ironically against Cambridge United, in 1996 he became the 999th player to make a Football League appearance for City.
Classic Sincil Bank , typical 80’s pitch and we’ll forgive the Big Man !
21st October 1989 - Keith Alexander scores as Grimsby Town draw 1-1 at Lincoln in Division Four. One of my first away games on the "Special" from Grimsby. Eye opener #GTFC Reece, Hargreaves, Agnew, Tillson, Lever, Cunnington, Watson, Gilbert, Birtles, Watson, Alexander. Att: 6251
Sad to read last week of the passing of former @LincolnCity_FC player Keith Ellis. A short stay at Sincil Bank at the end of his career but a prolific scorer for Sheffield Wednesday (60 goals in 118 senior games)

Tough night v West Ham but support was amazing. Limited computer access this week (grandson here) but 0-6 equals @LincolnCity_FC heaviest home Football League defeat (who else was also at the other 3?) and from memory the quickest ever known Imps dismissal.
Not the @LincolnCity_FC return to action we had hoped for but who became the 336th (out of 1375) player to make his 50th Football League start for the Imps?

As well as Lincolnshire Day October 1st is also the International Day of Older Persons. Both of @LincolnCity_FC oldest known Football League player and goal scorer are from the 1920's
Happy Lincolnshire Day "He's one of our own" is still a popular chant so who are the two Lincoln born players who have made the most appearances and scored the most goals for @LincolnCity_FC ?
On this day 131 years ago @LincolnCity_FC hosted @officialgtfc on one of the hottest days that Football League matches have ever been played on. It was eventful in another way and also created a bit of club history.
Having a sort through things and came across a stark reminder of just how far @LincolnCity_FC have come in the past few years. Average home gate in 2011/12 was 2347 and cash (and interest) was in pretty short supply when this novel fund raiser occurred.
