๐จ Israeli strike destroys Gaza school educating 350 children
An overnight Israeli airstrike on a residential building in the Saftawi area of Jabaliya, northern Gaza, destroyed the nearby Al-Zahraa makeshift tent school, which provided free education to approximately 350 children, as well as the Little Smile Kindergarten. The strike also damaged a camp sheltering displaced Palestinian families.
โAll the desks and educational tents were destroyed. Even the stationery we had for students and teachers was ruined,โ Mousa Zaqout, a teacher, told Drop Siteโs Abdel Qader Sabbah. He said the volunteer-run school provided free education to children from the camp and surrounding areas.
โThere is no ceasefire or anything like that on the ground,โ Zaqout added. โEvery hour, every moment, there is bombing and destruction.โ
Gazaโs Ministry of Education condemned the destruction of the two educational facilities, describing Israelโs continued targeting of schools as part of a systematic destruction of education in Gaza.
