Today, 35 years on from the Gillender Street fire, we remember Firefighters Terry Hunt and David Stokoe from Silvertown fire station, who died in the line of duty. Terry and David remain in our thoughts, as do their families.

A fantastic visit to Poplar Fire Station @LFBTowerHamlets to see @LondonFire training & how it enacts its fire contaminants policy across its estate. A big thank you to Richard Tapp, Borough Commander & his team for being so open & transparent. My smile says it all! 😁

Please don’t be alarmed by our presence at #FenchurchStreetStation today. It is not a real incident. Exercises like these help us to ensure we're ready to help protect Londoners.

Firefighters are issuing an urgent safety warning after three #London homes were gutted in a week due to e-bike fires. All the fires are believed to have been caused by the failure of lithium batteries for an e-bike. Read our #ChargeSafe campaign advice 👉 london-fire.pulse.ly/pffczsf…

Over the weekend, our Control Officers took 32 firework-related calls. We’re urging Londoners to listen to Mr Kishen’s story and attend a safer, organised fireworks display instead of purchasing #fireworks for personal use. Find out more - london-fire.gov.uk/incidents…

The fire in #Dagenham is now under control. Firefighters worked extremely hard to prevent the fire from reaching the properties nearby. We thank @lbbdcouncil for putting fire breaks in place which helped stop the fire from spreading to the houses. london-fire.gov.uk/incidents…

As the nights get colder and longer, many people will turn to alternative heat and light sources like portable heaters or candles. #Carers - on your next visit, spare a moment to complete our Home Fire Safety Checker - it could save a life. orlo.uk/JMONN

Have you put up your Christmas tree at home?🎄 Whether you’ve bought a real Christmas tree, or you’re using an artificial one, make sure you’ve positioned it carefully. Keep it far away from open fires and heaters, and don't forget to turn off the lights before bed

There's still lots of #BlackFriday sales on, so if you're having a browse this morning take the time to check you’re buying a safe product. There are many fake and non-compliant products for sale and they can be hard to tell apart from genuine ones orlo.uk/zL1bE

Don't let your #BlackFriday bargain go up in smoke. Experts have warned that who you purchase e-bikes, e-scooters and their chargers from has never been so vital. We've attended an e-bike or e-scooter fire once every two days. orlo.uk/EkbJQ @ElecSafetyFirst
