Isn't it mad that, the guy who takes the shot that eventually leads to the goal, isn't even credit for the assist?
Wirtz thought he had scored the opener. Deflection took it past the gk but the Premier League put it down as an own goal.
No goal or assist for Wirtz which seems harsh but he played a massive part in the goal that put LFC ahead ⚽️1-0 💪

Shouldn't the data record this? The 'own goal part' only comes into play with the deflection and this can be assigned separately.
Obviously only a small thing and one which won't interest anyone outside people like me but it seems weird that the shot isn't counted.
