Three years ago, Hamas terrorists carried out the worst attack on Israel in its history, murdering 1,200 innocent people.
I offer my deep condolences to those who lost loved ones. I send my solidarity to the people of Israel on the anniversary of this terrible act.

As co-chair of @LFPME we held an event at this year’s Labour Party Conference.
The room was full, thank you to everyone who attended.
Thank you to @Ed_Miliband, @LucyMPowell, @SDoughtyMP, @hzomlot for their speeches.
“This is first and foremost about humanity”.
Ambassador @hzomlot spoke movingly of a conversation with the Foreign Secretary about their mothers, one the child of a Holocaust survivor, one a child of the Nakba, both wanting the same thing: peace.
Thank you to everyone who joined our LFPME reception.
A historic moment with a Labour Government leading with values in action, and recognising those who have campaigned for peace, justice and freedom for Palestine. 🇬🇧🤝🇵🇸
A particular thank you to @Ed_Miliband, @LucyMPowell, @SDoughtyMP, @hzomlot and our Chair @JamesAsser for their great speeches.

As Co-Chair of @LFPME, I welcome the Foreign Secretary’s announcement today.
We will not be bystanders to the further suffering of the Palestinian people. Settler expansion and occupation in the West Bank are a flagrant violation of international law and cannot go unchallenged.

LFPME welcomes Foreign Secretary @Ed_Miliband's statement today.
We are proud to support a Labour Government committed to justice, peace and equality. (1/6) 🧵
Today, the Foreign Secretary gave practical meaning to the UK’s recognition of the State of Palestine, by outlining measures against actions that threaten that recognition and the viability of a two-state solution, which is essential to achieving a just and lasting peace. (5/6)

Products from illegal Israeli settlements in #Palestine should not be on our shelves. I’m urging the UK Government to make sure this is the case. Treasury, Trade, FCDO & DEFRA all have a role in this. @LFPME @Caabu @Zaytoun_CIC @amnesty @coopuk
Tomorrow, Greater Manchester elects a new Mayor. @bevcraig has demonstrated a lifelong commitment to social justice and equality at home and abroad. 🧵
Under Bev’s leadership, Manchester City Council was among the first in the country to call for a ceasefire in Gaza. She has continued to support Palestinian communities affected by the devastation, and calling for stronger international action.
On 30 July, vote for a Mayor who leads with authenticity and principle, someone who stands by her values when it matters most.
Tomorrow, vote @bevcraig for GMCA Mayor.
