📢 The Leading from the South consortium gathered in Cotonou for the 2nd Regional Convening in July. Under the theme "Holding the line, building futures: Global South feminist futures in turbulent times," we shared the progress, the challenges and the strategies being implemented
“We celebrated because despite all the challenges, we achieved so much collectively.”, said Françoise Moudouthe, Chief executive officer of the African Women's Development Fund.
👏 Our convening reinforced that especially during challenging times, our collective vision and solidarity keep us going forward in advancing gender justice across continents and constituencies. 🤝🎉

📣We strongly concur with the words of Françoise Moudouthe, CEO of African Women’s Development Fund @awdf01 member of the Leading from the South consortium at the opening session of the 69th Commission of the Status of Women (CSW) at the United Nations headquarters last week.
a collective chant rising and calling for empathy and justice in times when the denial of the human rights directly impacts the daily lives of women, girls and gender diverse communities across the globe.

This morning, I was pleased to share my speaking time at the opening of the sixty-ninth session of the Commission on the Status of Women #CSW with Ms. Francoise Moudouthe, Chief Executive Officer of the African Women’s Development Fund @awdf01.
I echo her message on providing adequate resources for women’s rights and gender equality work.
It is a strong reminder of the urgent need to address critical financing and resource gaps in order to realize the commitments made thirty years ago in the #BeijingPlatform for Action and achieve the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030.
I thank Ms.Francoise Moudouthe @F_Moudouthe for her commitment and support.

🌎 From the Global South to the World!
✨This 2025, we are committed to advocating, resourcing, and keep Leading from the Global South. This year, our focus remains on centering southern narratives and addressing their needs within the donor community.
This approach represents a redistribution of power over resource management and access, and is an imperative for the LFS team to remain focused on the continuity of the model.
📣 Now more than ever, the core of the feminist movement needs nurturing and strengthening.
We bear a significant responsibility to continue channeling resources to those who are the leaders and catalysts of real transformative changes.
