On Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day, we honor every child whose life ended far too soon and hold close the parents who carry that love and grief each day. Though their children may have rested in their arms only briefly, or never at all, they remain forever part of their families and forever cherished.

Today, on Charlie Kirk’s birthday, we remember a man who never lost sight of the larger struggle behind the headlines. He understood how the great questions of life, family, faith, and freedom were connected, and he had the courage to say so plainly. His wisdom, clarity, and ability to see the whole picture are sorely missed.

This Down Syndrome Awareness Month, we celebrate the joy, gifts, and limitless possibilities of every person with Down syndrome. Every child deserves to be welcomed, protected, and given the chance to show the world all that he or she can become.

Injecting potassium chloride into an unborn child’s heart to make it stop beating is not healthcare, compassion, or freedom. It is deliberate violence against a living child, and no carefully chosen euphemism can make it anything else. This is reproductive violence.

An unborn child needs more than a father’s name. That child needs his courage, his presence, and his willingness to stand beside mother and baby when fear closes in. Real fatherhood begins by saying, “I am here, and I will protect you both.”

October is Respect Life Month. We recommit ourselves to protecting every human life, from the unborn child to the elderly, the infirm, and the vulnerable. Every life has dignity. Every life deserves protection.

Today, we are joined by members of Congress to mark fifty years of the Hyde Amendment and honor the extraordinary man whose name it bears. Henry Hyde believed that a child’s right to live should never depend on her parents’ income or whether the government would pay for her abortion. Because he had the courage to speak, fight, and persevere, an estimated 2.6 million children received the gift of life. His amendment became their shield, and their lives remain his greatest legacy.

This is what reproductive violence actually looks like. Tonya Reaves walked into a Chicago Planned Parenthood for an abortion. Her child was dismembered. Her uterus was perforated. An artery was torn. She hemorrhaged for hours and died. International abortion profiteers are trying to equate life-saving pro-life laws with reproductive violence. It won't fly.
