In 1986, Gene Roddenberry said Patrick Stewart's name should "never, ever be mentioned in my presence again."
Five years later, Stewart sang and danced on the bridge of the Enterprise as a birthday surprise for him.
It was never meant to be seen. A copy survived and ended up as a DVD bonus.
RIP Sir Patrick.

I suspect a good proportion of Canadians would prefer to make French the national language than become the 51st state. Not even joking.

Official photographs from the award ceremony at Rideau Hall in Ottawa, where, along with distinguished Canadians, I was presented with the Meritorious Service Medal by the Governor General of Canada, the Honourable Louise Arbour. I feel deeply honoured and profoundly grateful for this recognition. Thank you, dear Canadians, for your love and support, expressed in so many ways, including forms I may never fully perceive ❤️🙏🏽

Thanks for your critique, Janet. We actually tried a couple of episodes where House (Hugh Laurie) (please put the brackets in the right place) gets it right first time, but they were only 6 minutes long. NBC weren’t happy. Then we tried some where House never gets it right and the patient dies. The audience wasn’t happy.
One could apply your trenchant analysis to other art forms: JS Bach wrote 30 Goldberg variations on the same chord structure; Frida Kahlo painted 50 portraits of herself; Henry Moore, what??
The point is, or was, variations on a theme; if all you see is hospital, medical blah blah, then it wasn’t meant for you.
Nonetheless, I look forward to your first novel!

Ford’s hatred for Toronto has no limits. He introduced a bill to take over the city’s portion of Billy Bishop Airport and Little Norway Park. A 2.4 hectare park at Bathurst St and Queens Quay West with a ball diamond, wading pool, playground, public art & walking paths. The province is not a signatory to the tripartite agreement over the airport. It’s owned 2/3 by the feds and 1/3 by the city. Call your Liberal MP and tell them to help us stop Ford from paving over the lake and green space!

We are living in a sad, disgusting world. It didn’t have to be like this. 😑

Peter Ustinov once called Toronto "New York run by the Swiss"....
I live in Montréal, which is more like "Traffic cone heaven run by the French"...

From Prince Harry’s autobiography, SPARE:
“[My uncle Andrew] was embroiled in a shameful scandal, accused of the sexual assault of a young woman and no one had so much suggested that he lose his security. Whatever grievances people had against us, sex crimes weren’t on the list”

Jeff Bezos appears to be wearing the wrong waistcoat for his wedding. This is a dinner suit (aka tuxedo) and thus requires a formal waistcoat, which is cut lower on the body. He's wearing a business vest, which is designed for business suits. Needs a waistcoat like the right.

To all of you wonderfully dear naive & gullible types out there whom I love so much…
If you are angry about my posts on the US becoming a Canadian province: imagine how Canadians felt when an actual leader of a friendly neighboring country floated that idea across the border. Doesn’t feel good; does it? Learn a lesson from it.

The result? The crowd losing its mind. 🔥
