Just about a half hour ago Elon was boosting a tweet about repealing the 14th amendment, by one of those "heritage american" nutjobs. This is not healthy political discourse. It's an attempt to start a fire.
I think we need to be extremely concerned about the Twitter arsonists who will complain about the election results next week, assuming they go the way of the Dems. Elon and his minions are going to do everything they can to claim that various elections were rigged/stolen/etc. They're doing it today with Brazil, and they'll do it next week with the US midterms. And this is fundamentally why I'm so opposed to reflexive populism. It's a fire that eventually consumes everything. There is no evidence that Lula stole the election in Brazil, but that hasn't stopped people from saying it was stolen. If the truth doesn't matter, then what's the point of anything? Everyone can just lie and nothing matters, and we spiral into nihilism.

Populism and demagoguery play well on social media. In real life, they tend to lead to disastrous outcomes.
A lot of political arsonists on this site are getting burned by the fires they helped start.

Lost in the middle of Cheesecake Factory discourse is that Obama's larger point about Trump was 100% right. Considering that he is America's first gay President, and his love of gold leaf everything, he SHOULD be on HGTV doing interior design and home renovation.

My favorite part of Sunday night, after the football games, is the Kitchen Nightmares marathon on the cooking channel. I will never get tired of Gordon Ramsay telling people that their food is shit and they dont know how to run a restaurant.

If you find yourself believing in and saying stuff like: "the only way to save Europe is for Putin to invade it," then it's probably time to get off social media. Cause that is totally delulu, bananalands crazy, static in the attic type of shit. šŸ™ƒšŸ˜µā€šŸ’«
I hate to say it but at this point Putin invading Europe may be the only way to save it

I cannot say this loudly enough: The Glazer family has completely FUCKED @ManUtd over the course of their 20+ years of "ownership" starting with the (now prohibited) leveraged takeover where they loaded the club with debt in order to purchase it, back in 2004. They've taken the biggest, most famous, most successful club in the history of English football, and arguably world football, and utterly fucking destroyed it. A disgrace beyond belief.
"Sell United and f*k off home" sing MUFC fans, the only good thing about the club right now. And it's right. The Glazers have made their money many times over for 21 years. Fans never wanted it and that takeover should never have been allowed. Do the right thing: sell up and go.

Go read Mike's latest!
The past two weeks have seen the Trump administration essentially turn on Ukraine. This is a shameful, perfidious decision that harms American interests. Here's why it matters, and why, in the grand scheme of things, it might not. My latest: rationalpolicy.com/p/shame-a…

I don't post much about soccer here because I know most of my followers don't care but I just gotta say @ManUtd are in a full blown crisis and I hate how this club has been destroyed by its "owners" and mismanaged by its "leadership." Absolutely disgraceful.

Come out and just tell me what you've been thinking all along We could've talked all night Instead of wasting time I could've solved your problems You could've helped me with mine Now if you ever come through Which I doubt you'll do I'll run away with you

I will continue to post about Ukraine despite the Russian bots and useful idiots here in America who seem to be searching this app for every single Ukraine post to comment on. Plus, it helps me get my blocked accounts number up. Currently at 4,071. 🚫

We should be able to produce LNG in Alaska **WITHOUT** "help" from sanctioned Russian energy companies. But in Trump 2.0, the opportunity for corruption and graft is simply impossible to pass up.
US energy company execs have resigned in disgust as the Trump family is caught secretly expediting the funneling of $25 billion from a sanctioned Russian energy giant in exchange for allowing Russians to obtain a natural gas project in Alaska. According to investigations by The New York Times and Financial Times, Russia's Novatek allegedly concealed its financial involvement in the American project through a UAE-linked intermediary. Gentry Beach, a longtime Trump ally and close friend of Donald Trump Jr., signed an agreement with Novatek to pursue natural gas development in Alaska. Reuters documented the arrangement in February. Meanwhile, Vladimir Putin discussed this cooperation on the Alaska energy project with Trump's representatives, Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, during negotiations involving Russia and Ukraine. The controversy deepened when Polar Train LNG's CEO, Joel Riddle, raised concerns about concealed Russian financing and possible sanctions violations. He departed in September, followed by other senior executives. The Financial Times also described discussions about a potential arrangement under which Novatek would provide technology for the Alaska project in exchange for sanctions relief benefiting its Arctic LNG 2 development in Siberia. According to The New York Times, Riddle and two other departing executives warned the Trump administration about the Russian financing and urged officials to investigate. The White House maintains that the project was mentioned only briefly and that no detailed discussions took place. There is no established evidence that Kushner or Witkoff knew about the allegedly concealed financing. Polar Train LNG denies wrongdoing. The central question is how a sanctioned Russian energy company became involved in a major American energy venture while Putin was discussing potential economic cooperation with Trump's representatives and a longtime Trump family associate was pursuing a separate agreement with the same Russian company. Selling Alaska to the Russians or selling Ukraine to the Russians - to the Trump family it's all the same. ft.com/content/e9cfbfbb-e65a…

This guy Dmitriev cracks me up. You know, according to some of the best independent reporting in Russia, the Kremlin views him as a complete asshole that nobody likes. Putin sends him to the negotiations with Witkoff because it's like distracting a child with a shiny object. He has zero influence over what decisions are made by Putin and his inner circle. Having said that, Dmitriev is a skilled propagandist, and an excellent salesman. He speaks the language of right wing populism very well. Just like his good friend Elon Musk, you can find him frequently reposting stuff from right wing slop aggregators like Nick Sortor, Eric Daugherty, etc. Dmitriev has the audacity to speak about warmongers, meanwhile, the man he works for has overseen the deadliest, bloodiest war in Europe since WWII. And for what? For Russian history? So that Putin can put back together the pieces of the Soviet Union, which broke apart under the weight of Russia's own corruption and incompetence? This shit is hollow. We can see right through it.
Elon exposes the LIES OF WARMONGERS: That said, I have nothing but UTTER CONTEMPT for the virtue-signaling evil warmongers who push for endless slaughter and offer no realistic solution to the conflict. May you burn in hell. Honesty & realistic solutions are required for peacešŸ•Šļø

Elon Musk claims that Ukraine allegedly violated Starlink's terms of use and used the system on combat drones. As someone who was inside the process at the Ministry of Defense, I can say with certainty that this is not true. In February of this year, whitelists were introduced. Stationary terminals could be registered by both military personnel and civilians. But for any satellite terminal to work while on the move, it had to be added to a special list and connected to the military Starshield system. Otherwise, no satellite communication terminals in Ukraine would work. In other words, using civilian Starlink for drone missions was technically impossible. All drone missions that required satellite communication could only be carried out using Starshield. We are very grateful to the United States and SpaceX for access to critically important satellite communications. Ukraine did not violate the terms of use.

The Ukrainian desire to fight the Russian invasion is not driven by Zelenskyy or "elites" or anyone in the West. It's driven by regular people who understand that Russia is evil, and that Russia has been trying to reincorporate Ukraine since the collapse of the Soviet Union. When the Russians advanced towards Kyiv they were met with heavy resistance from the same people that Putin thought, foolishly, would welcome his army with open arms.
