#ThrowbackThursday Did you know that we abolished fines in the library way back in 1952? Mind you, it does mean that at this time of the year we keenly try to get books back that have been out on loan for some time before the Summer holidays arrive…
It's taken us a few days to get this display up, but political literacy is important to start learning way before you have the ability to vote #generalelection2024
A month to go until we start our move to Grove House, today's #ThrowbackThursday are pictures of when the library was in what are now English classrooms in Peckover - 1940's, 100 years ago in 1924, and a sketch from 1929
It's #ThrowbackThursday and I am very glad that we no longer need to keep a hand-written log book - as are my colleagues considering my handwriting. But we have lost a lovely personalized way of recommending books like this from 1954
Today's #ThrowbackThursday - one of our upcoming challenges with the new Grove library will be bringing the non-fiction from the library through into the sixth form study area - but did you know that it is just over 75 years since we began using the Dewey system at LP? July 1948
As part of our build-up to the library move to Grove House, here is a #ThrowbackThursday (Is that even still a thing) showing what the library looked like back in the 80’s when it was still located in Townsend before we moved to Old School #TBThursday
Best of luck to all year 11 students who start their first day of study leave today - one more week until the A Level students join them
Thankyou to @relocatemag for this wonderful article about @SteveColeBooks visit last week relocatemagazine.com/leighto…
Yesterday was @SteveColeBooks final visit as our Patron of Reading - thank you for all of the work and the visits over the last four years - it has been an absolute pleasure. We look forward to more visits from you in the future
A brilliant day with the ever-wonderful @SteveColeBooks enthralling pupils from New Christchurch, @ridgeway_school @WP_WEC @CtK_RDG @WokinghamKnight @StPirans_school @CavershamPrep & @HemdeanHouseSch Thank you all for coming and joining us. @LPSchool @LPPartnerships
Welcome back to our new term everyone. The work in the library is gearing up to our move to Grove House over the summer - it's going to be a busy one 😃
We have also challenged our tutor groups to recreate a book cover with things they have to hand for #WorldBookDay2024 . Is it odd that one of our librarians has skeletons and aviator shades lying around at home?
Lots of other activities happening in the library this #WorldBookDay2024 including Match the Teacher With Their Favorite Book, Book Island Challenge, prompts for LP Recommends, Choose Your Own Scavenger Hunt, a Book Quiz, and more...
It's #WorldBookDay2024 and our library team is ready to go! Tell us of your plans for the day...
