Minnesota 2026 midterms are fast approaching. Mark these essential dates. So your voice can be heard! 📆 Sep 15: National Voter Registration Day Check or update your registration. To vote you must be a U.S. citizen, 18 by Election Day, and a Minnesota resident for at least 20 days before Nov. 3. Doing it now saves time later: mnvotes.gov/register 📆 Sep 18: Absentee voting begins No excuse needed. Request a mail ballot, or vote in person. County offices generally open Sep. 18; some city halls start Oct. 16. Check your site: sos.state.mn.us (search “voting locations before election day”). 📆 Oct 13: Pre-register deadline Last day for online or mail registration to be received so your name is already on the list. Miss it? You can still register in person when you vote, with proof of residence. 📆 Oct 16: Early voting starts This is the in-person period when many sites let you put your ballot straight into a tabulator. Same idea as Election Day, just earlier. 📆 Nov 2: Last day to vote early in person Also the last day to request an absentee ballot. Hours vary; many sites close at 5 p.m. Don’t cut it close. 📆 Nov 3: Election Day Polls 7 a.m.–8 p.m. If you’re in line at 8, you vote. Stay in line. Mail ballots must be received by 8 p.m. Election Day, not just postmarked. In-person absentee drop-off is generally due by 5 p.m. Same-day registration is available with proof of residence. "The only wasted vote is a vote not made. Who you vote for is who you vote for." 🗳️ That's Chip Tangen's answer to voters who like him but worry about "spoiling" the race. Chip, Libertarian for Minnesota Secretary of State, explains in this short video why that worry keeps Minnesota stuck! In 2023 the legislature raised the threshold for major party status from 5% to 8%, making it even harder for new choices to reach your ballot. Chip points out that at the same committee hearing, some ranked choice voting supporters were backing that higher bar. As he puts it, "Make that make sense." He has a fix! Chip backs the Minor Party Ballot Access bill (HF 3534) so viable third parties can regularly field candidates, and he sees real potential in proportional voting. That would give conservatives in the cities and liberals in rural Minnesota a real chance to have their voices heard. More parties, more choices, and every vote counts. Give it a watch, then like it and share it with a friend who's on the fence. Also, make sure to catch Chip this Sunday, October 25, at 9 AM on WCCO NewsTalk 830's The Sunday Take. Vote by Election Day, Tuesday, November 3, 2026. #MNSOS #MorePartiesMoreFun #LPMN #VoteNov3
I’ve heard from voters who like what I have to say but hesitate to vote for me because they’re worried about “spoiling” their preferred party’s chances of winning. In this video, I share my response to the “spoiler” argument and discuss ways we could rethink our voting system.

When a farm animal gets sick, every hour counts! So why does Washington make it harder to help? In this clip from the LPMN State Convention, Rebecca Whiting, Libertarian for Minnesota U.S. Senate explains how the FDA now makes farmers go through a vet to get medications for their livestock. Now the only way to get them is through a vet. The problem is that rural Minnesota is facing a serious shortage of livestock vets. In some places there's just one for an entire region. When a rule written in D.C. meets that reality, getting quick care for a sick animal becomes next to impossible. Rebecca is running on Farm, Food, and Community Freedom, so farmers can take care of their own animals without waiting on permission from Washington. Watch it, like it, and share it with a farmer you know. 🐄💉 X: @Whiting4Senate Vote by Election Day, Tuesday, November 3, 2026. #MNSen #MNSenate #Whiting4Senate #LPMN

Why are corporate farms taking over? It's not because small farmers can't compete. It's because the rules won't let them. In this clip, Rebecca Whiting, Libertarian for Minnesota U.S. Senate, explains what it would take for her to sell cheese from her own micro-dairy at the local farmers market: $800,000 to close to a million dollars in facilities. She milks three or four cows. But she has to meet the same regulations as the big dairies milking a thousand cows twice a day! Yogurt, cheese and other value-added products could be on more tables in Minnesota. Small farmers can make them. The state just won't allow it without the same infrastructure the corporate farms can afford. That's how consolidation happens. When the rules are written for the biggest players, the small family farm gets squeezed out. Rebecca is running on Farm, Food, and Community Freedom, so Minnesota farmers can sell what they raise to their own neighbors. Watch it, like it, and share it with someone who shops the farmers market. 🧀🐄 Vote by Election Day, Tuesday, November 3, 2026. #MNSen #MNSenate #Whiting4Senate #LPMN

This Sunday at 9 AM on WCCO NewsTalk 830 Chip Tangen joins the Minnesota Secretary of State debate on The Sunday Take! A big thank you to @wccoradio for inviting an independent voice to the table! Minnesotans deserve to hear more than two sides when it comes to who runs our elections and you are making that possible. Would you let a Packers fan referee the Vikings game? Then why let a party player run our elections? Hear Chip make the case Sunday, like and share so more Minnesotans hear it too. 📻 Vote by Election Day, Tuesday, November 3, 2026. #MNSOS #MNPolitics #LPMN #WCCO
Perhaps it’s time for Minnesota to elect a Chief Election Officer who doesn’t play for the Red or Blue teams. Tune in and decide for yourself.

Vikings fans, picture this: the Packers get to pick the referee. Would you stand for that? NO! 🏈 Yet in our elections, we let partisans pick the person who runs the game! Chip Tangen is running for Minnesota Secretary of State to change that. He wants an independent chief elections officer and more choices on your ballot than just Republican or Democrat. Gallup found that 45% of Americans call themselves independent. It's time our ballots reflected that. Watch his 40-second pitch, share it with a friend, and make a plan to vote Chip Tangen for Secretary of State by Nov. 3. 🗳️ More parties, more fun! Matthew McConaughey put out a video last night that every Minnesota voter should watch! His point: Independent candidates belong in the race as real contenders, not protest votes or spoilers, and voters should take them seriously. A fair fight means everyone who should be in the ring is actually in it. He's right! For decades the two parties have written the rules, set the debate stage, and told you anyone else is a wasted vote. That's not a fair fight. That's a political monopoly. This year, Minnesota has real choices; Rebecca Whiting for US Senate (@Whiting4Senate) , the Army combat medic and Bemidji farmer running to end the forever wars, break the political monopoly and give Minnesota a real choice. Chip Tangen for Secretary of State (@ChipforSOS) the independent referee Minnesota elections deserve. He's running to tear down the ballot-access barriers that keep voters from having more options. TJ Hawthorne for MN 44B (@TJ_Hawthorne44B), the Navy veteran and engineer running as an Independent so voters in North St. Paul and Maplewood have a real alternative. Watch the video. Share this with a friend who's fed up. Then look past the two-party ballot and decide for yourself. Early voting is open. Election Day is Tuesday, November 3. #MNSenate #MNSOS #IndependentCounts #BallotAccess

Imagine a Minnesota where every election gives you more than two choices on the ballot. 🗳️ Under current law, minor party candidates have to gather 2,000+ signatures each just to appear on the ballot in November. Republicans and Democrats never have to do that. They just pay a fee! As Rebecca Whiting explained on The White House Podcast, her U.S. Senate race is one of only a handful of statewide races that can change that for our party! Chip Tangen's race for Secretary of State is another! If either Rebecca or Chip reaches 8% this November, the Libertarian Party becomes a major party in Minnesota. That means automatic ballot access, a level playing field with the two old parties, and room for more candidates to run in every election after this one. Two races, two chances to change Minnesota's ballot for good! Vote Rebecca Whiting for U.S. Senate (@Whiting4Senate) and Chip Tangen for Secretary of State (@ChipforSOS). Watch the clip, give it a like, and share it with someone who's tired of picking the lesser of two evils. Vote by Election Day, Tuesday, November 3, 2026.
