Bell is getting extreme levels of abuse this morning, simply for raising concern about this event, and flagging that no lessons have been learned about the treatment of Professor Jason Arday.
Solidarity to Bell, solidarity to Jason’s family, and solidarity to every Black academic and student forced to endure this culture of racism - both online and in our institutions.

Israel has launched a major military operation across the occupied West Bank, with Palestinian families being forcibly displaced, homes and businesses demolished, mass arrests carried out and the entire territory placed under siege and lockdown.
In Al-Khalil alone, more than 2,000 Palestinians have already been forced from their homes. Israeli forces have sealed off the city and turned Palestinian homes into military positions and interrogation centres.
Benjamin Netanyahu has said “We will act to destroy this place, to change it completely,”
This is collective punishment. We cannot stand by.
Join Friends of Al-Aqsa for an emergency protest outside Downing Street to demand an end to Israel’s assault on the West Bank.

“Higher education in this country is at risk on a scale we have never experienced before.”
Thank you to John McDonnell MP for backing our campaign and calling for the investment our universities desperately need.
On 20 November, we come together to demand change. Education. It’s ours.
Higher education in this country is at risk on a scale we have never experienced before. The future of our young people is being put at risk and the potential of our economy is being jeopardised. It’s time to speak up and demand the investment needed in this jewel in the crown of our society. @ucu

My latest book review. An excellent account of how classical economists understood (or failed to understand) primitive accumulation and the creation of capitalism. Michael Perelman's Marxist study "The Invention of Capitalism". resolutereader.blogspot.com/…

What a marvellous ideological category ‘sensible people’ functions as here. I can remember when back in the 1990s other asses described both Althusser and Hobsbawm as the ‘Last Marxist’.

Short video about my book "Travels through the Spanish Civil War" published by @HurstPublishers. Took me 7 years to write. Starts in Barcelona's Plaça Catalunya, ends in Austria. Takes the reader to Aragón with Orwell's son, Gernika, the Ebro battle, the Valley of the Fallen. I wanted to understand the war by traveling through today's landscapes, the scars of violence still there, looking also how the war is remembered, dark clouds threatening today.
