Congratulations Bill and thank you for all the time, effort and energy covering HS sports in Eastern Jackson County. 40+ years of telling stories is terrific. Enjoy retirement!

Hi everyone. After 43 years, eight months and four days, I have retired at The Examiner. The memories, the friendships, the special coaches, players, moms, dads and co-workers - you have made an indelible impact on my life. Lots of news to come, just wanted to let everyone know!

A question posed to me: What are the KC area Barbecue “Blueblood” spots? Thinking Gates, Arthur Bryant’s, Joe’s, Jack Stack? Any other places deserve “Blueblood” status?

Amen B. Most of the time it works out better than you imagined.

One thing I realized is that Everything always ends up working out. Sometimes even better than you can imagine. Remember this when you feel like you're in a hard place or you feel like you're being challenged the most. Believe in where you're headed. See the bigger picture.
