A firsthand look at ongoing restoration efforts following Hurricane Isaias. Our crews continue working around the clock to repair storm damage and restore service to affected communities. Restoration takes time, and our teams remain focused on getting the job done.

Thank you for bearing with us as crews worked overnight into Monday morning to restore power safely and as quickly as possible.
To our neighbors in Brewton and Monroeville, we know many are still dealing with significant wind and storm damage from Hurricane Isaias, including widespread tree damage and impacts to infrastructure.
Know that our crews won’t stop working until every customer who can safely receive power is restored.

Twenty-five years later, we still remember.
September 11, 2001 changed our country and changed the lives of an entire generation. I remember where I was that morning. I remember the shock, the anger and the sense that something had fundamentally changed.
For many of us in uniform, that day became more than a date on the calendar. It became a call to serve.
Today, I’m smoking a Sentinel from Hermanos de Armas, a veteran-owned company, and taking a moment to remember the men and women who answered that call. I’m remembering the brothers and sisters I had the privilege to serve alongside in Afghanistan and in other theaters during the Global War on Terror.
We shared long days, hard missions, bad chow, dark humor and moments that only those who were there can truly understand. We carried each other through the difficult times. Some of those people never made it home.
Twenty-five years later, I still think about them.
I think about the friends we lost. I think about the families who carried a burden they never asked for. I think about the veterans who came home carrying wounds that couldn’t always be seen. And I think about those who are still serving today, those sentinels, standing watch and carrying the mission forward.
To those who served with me: thank you. To those who served before us: thank you. To those serving today: stay safe and know that your service matters.
And to the fallen: you are not forgotten. Your names, your sacrifices and the lives you touched continue to live on in those of us who came home.
Twenty-five years later, we remember why we served.
We remember who we served for.
And we never forget those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
Never forget.
I find it hilarious that for years LSU has accused Bama of cheating but when it comes to openly, blatantly cheating, they're the first to embrace the concept.

This Protestant, who is currently on his way to becoming a Catholic, issues a profound warning to those who are currently discerning Catholicism. Very important

August traditionally brings the hottest weather of the year to Alabama. @alabamapower has some great tools to set alerts and track your daily energy usage. With a better understanding of how your home uses energy, you can make small adjustments to stay on track and keep your bill more consistent month to month.

Have the unusually low preseason rankings gotten Alabama's attention?
Kalen DeBoer: "Yeah, we are definitely aware."

There’s a scene at the end of The Return of the King where the hobbits are sitting at their local bar. Only they know what they accomplished.
They quietly sip their beers while the rest of the Shire goes about their business like nothing ever happened.
Because for them, nothing did happen.
That scene pretty much sums up coming home from deployment better than any war movie ever has.

This is the best piece I've read about Glen today...
Glen Hansard: A powerhouse of self-belief and passion rte.ie/entertainment/2026/07…
Extremely saddened by the loss of @Glen_Hansard. His music moved me more than most any modern artist. Partaking of a 12-year Irish whisky and a Bleak Midwinter on this bleak midsummer. RIP, troubadour!
