So many have contacted me about road safety in their neighbourhoods, and I wrote to @transportgovuk sharing problems raised by Southampton residents.

The news last week that local services in Southampton will be properly funded for the first time in over a decade was a great early Christmas present. 🎁
In 2026, the council gets a 32% rise in spending power. Having fought hard for this uplift, I am over the moon!

🚨 BREAKING: It's confirmed that the Labour Government is giving Southampton City Council EIGHT TIMES the funding it got under the Tories.
Our city will get £84.6m more for the services we rely on.
Compare that to the £6.9m given by the Conservatives.
As former Leader of Southampton City Council, I saw first-hand how the Tory government pushed us to the brink.
Proud to have fought for this increase alongside @darrenpaffey and Councillor Alex Winning, Leader of @SouthamptonCC.
