BREAKING: Pete Hegseth has his oafish staff seize General Dwight D. Eisenhower’s famed WWII globe from the Pentagon — and the buffoons broke it.
The metaphor isn’t exactly subtle…
“A group dispatched by Hegseth's team in February attempted to move the historic globe, said to be used by Eisenhower during World War II,” The Washington Post’s Dan Lamothe wrote on X. “They lifted it from its home in an Army office in the Pentagon ... and dropped it.”
The symbolism here is as hilarious as it is enraging. Hegseth, the booze-addled “Secretary of War” who launched a war against Iran that resulted in the greatest American strategic defeat in history, was so desperate to drape himself in the glory of one of this nation’s genuine heroes that he literally broke the world.
Eisenhower was able to defeat the Nazis in Europe through masterful management of sprawling, complex logistics systems. Hegseth can’t even manage the transportation of a globe from one office to another. And for the record, the former Fox News host would have been far more likely to ally with Germany in that war than fight them.
The Post reports that the globe, one of two dating back to the 1930s, were carefully cared for by Army leaders who viewed themselves as “custodians of the artifacts.”
Sources told the outlet that the “historical signifance was attractive to Hegseth,” which is in perfect keeping with his blusterous, incompetent persona.
As is so often with this administration, the proper procedures were ignored. Usually, specially trained curators are entrusted with such delicate moving operations. Instead, Hegseth’s sweaty-palmed, testosterone-injected goons burst in and attempted the operation themselves. They “lost control” of the globe and dropped it, causing it to smash into its own base, damaging Antarctica. The hole is several inches wide.
While the Defense Department refused to provide the Post with images, the outlet managed to obtain photos through their sources.
“Hegseth wants an Eisenhower totem to be like Ike, brilliant in war and peace,” said Ret. Brigadier General Ty Seidule. “Hegseth is no Ike. The globe won’t give him Ike’s attributes of humility, intellect and judgment.”
And that’s putting it generously.

Meta has suddenly suspended the No Kings Instagram account in the middle of the No Kings' national day of action.
This shocking censorship comes just weeks before the midterm election.

Preventing Ukraine, the victim of aggression, from defending itself is a profound moral injustice and a betrayal of humanity.
Those responsible for such actions risk leaving a dark stain on their legacy - a shame that future generations of their own families may carry in their hearts and minds.
History will remember not only the aggressors, but also those who enabled them.

“And I know you may not have been told this, but as president of the United States, doing your job means defending countries against invading Russian armies and expanding the borders of Western freedom. If you don't, then as with Hitler, you can bet that Poland, the Baltics and the rest of Europe will be putin’s next target. It's past time that you get to work.”

In this powerful monologue, Joe Scarborough proves that Trump and his cronies acting as cheerleaders for putin are no different from the Nazi sympathisers of the 1930s. It’s a chilling, crystal-clear wake-up call about what happens when leaders trade American democracy for a dictator's favour.
Joe Scarborough:
“… just peeling what putin has had a collection of useful idiots across America do now for the past five years.
I really I really don't say this often in American politics. but when you're defending vladimir putin, an ex KGB agent who is committing war crimes by the day, I'm not sure how you sleep at night.
And this phenomenon though, has historical parallels. It was 89 years ago this month in October 1937, that the former king of England walked up the steps of Adolf Hitler's mountain retreat in Bavaria. The Duke of Windsor had given up the throne less than a year earlier, but he toured German factories, inspected the SS and was photographed greeting the Führer. Time Magazine reported that Hitler gave the Duke a Nazi salute as they parted and Edward returned that Nazi salute. Later he told friends that Britain shouldn't fight Hitler, the war should not start. Winston Churchill had to actually send him to the Bahamas to keep him away from his new friend in Berlin. But the Duke wasn't alone, just like Donald Trump isn't alone. Here at home, Charles Lindbergh, an American hero who accepted the medal of freedom from Hermann Goering in 1938, went on to lead America First. And in a 1941 speech in Des Moines, he blamed Jews and the British for pushing America toward war. Even FDR's US Ambassador to Britain, Joseph Kennedy, predicted democracy is finished in England. His appeasement and his lack of moral alarm cost Kennedy his job. In Britain, aristocrats like the Astors and Lord Halifax thought Hitler was a man they could do business with.
Does that sound familiar?
Sounded so respectable, trade, stability, money, peace in our time.
History remembers them now as morally vacuous opportunists who looked at a tyrant who was devouring his neighbours, the only thing they saw, a business partner.
The parallels with Trump are too on point. Now on Friday, Donald Trump got on the phone with vladimir putin who always plays him when they get on the phone and what happened? He lifted sanctions on the Russian diesel deal, he did it three weeks after Republicans had forced him to sign a Russia sanctions bill in honour of Lindsey Graham. The White House says his gift to putin will lower prices at the pump, but it won't. The first shipment is only about 2.2 million barrels and America burns through more than that every day. It's not going to lower gas prices in America. But it will help putin kill innocence in Ukraine, a country Trump has always hated. Trump's four billion dollar gift to the man he kowtows to every day will buy missiles, drones, and glide bombs that will keep terrorising and killing Ukrainians who are fighting for their country's freedom and their children's lives and yes, our freedom.
A bipartisan group of senators including Susan Collins wrote in a statement Sunday that the United States should not provide putin with a financial lifeline while Russia continues to kill Ukrainian civilians. But Trump's aping of putin’s talking points, they just keep getting worse. With this weak president attacking Ukrainian freedom fighters and perversely calling for new leadership in Kyiv. We do need new leadership, Mr. President, but not in Ukraine. Donald, I've known you a long time and I know you don't read history, so let me tell you how this story ends. The Duke of Windsor ended up a footnote, a cautionary tale in a fancy suit forever assigned to the dustbin of British history. And your time to finally do the right thing in Ukraine, Mr. President, it's running out. Stop bowing down to putin. And start doing your job.

In just 10 days, the Trump administration has:
- Struck a deal to buy Russian diesel and eased sanctions.
- Suspended the bipartisan Graham-Blumenthal Russia sanctions law, just weeks after signing it.
- Restricted Ukraine's access to Starshield satellite services.
- Suspended intelligence warnings about Russian missile launches targeting Ukraine for several days.
- Threatened to cut intelligence sharing unless Ukraine stopped striking Russian oil infrastructure.
- Pressured Ukraine to remove Zelenskyy from power.
- Downplayed Russia's and China's assistance to Iran in its war against the US, dismissing it as "very little."
- Proposed unfreezing Russian sovereign assets and placing some under US control.
- Pursued lucrative US-Russia business deals, including cooperation on data centres.
- Proposed that Europe resume buying Russian gas as part of a Ukraine peace deal
If Trump were actually a Russian agent, what exactly would he be doing differently?

It's a good time to restate: Trump CANNOT and DOES NOT see beyond himself - EVER. He is NOT strategic - he is transactional. He does not think, he feels. He's an amalgamation of impulses and cravings. Freud would call him a "human id."
He is now owned by his disorders. What I mean by that, is that his impulses and cravings outweigh even his self-interests. This is why it often seems as though he is trying to lose. He simply cannot pivot, he will almost always double down, he sees enemies in all disagreements, and he can never shut up or stop.
In his addled mind, there is no you or me. There is no America. There are no high prices. There is no future of the planet. There is only him, right now, in a zero-sum game. There is only his grandiosity, and again - his impulses and his cravings, and they comprise his reality. And if you're a reporter not reporting his reality, stay away.
This is a dangerous malignant narcissist, impatient and defiant, old and fearful of his own mortality, frustrated that he's no longer able to force-feed his concocted reality, and terrified that all he is and all he ever said he was, could be exposed and crumble like a House of Cards, forever.
He knows he is in decline, and he knows he is losing. He WILL get worse, and - footnote to Republicans - he will NOT want to go down alone.

The 2026 Nobel Prize in Literature was awarded to Anne Carson. Since the mid-1980s she has published a wide range of literature: poetry, essays, translations and collaborative artwork.
When reading Carson one thing strikes you as a reader: she sounds like nobody else. With playful intellectual precision, she addresses painful subjects without sentimentality. Her literary voice is charged with an intensity that makes her books impossible to put down. Since Carson’s books offer multiple and ambiguous meanings they can be re-read in different situations in life.
A good place to start as a reader is 'The Beauty of the Husband: A Fictional Essay in 29 Tangos' (2001). It’s a relatable portrait of jealousy and an autofictional account of a break-up. Structured as a series of tangos, the chapters oscillate between desire and anger. The verse captures the swirling movement and passion of the dance itself.
Carson’s first book, 'Eros the Bittersweet: an essay' (1986) is a reworking of her doctoral thesis, exploring the classical Greek concept of eros. In the book, Carson shows how desire is fundamentally bound up with absence. The tension generated by absence is a recurring theme and a defining feature of her writing.
'Nox' is one of many collaborations that Carson has made with her husband, the artist Robert Currie. Nox is a folded text presented in a box. Part elegy, part tribute, it reflects on the disappearance of Carson’s brother in the form of a collage of memories and images.
As Anne Carson said, when being asked where readers should start if they want to get to know her work: start in the middle! So pick up a book and step into the universe of our newest literature laureate.

Saint Bride (1913) by Scottish Symbolist artist John Duncan (1866-1945) - the painting depicts Saint Brigid of Kildare, also known in Scotland as Saint Bride...
The painting was created in tempera, oil, and gold leaf on canvas, measuring 122.3 × 144.5cm. It belongs to the National Galleries of Scotland in Edinburgh.
In Gaelic folklore, Saint Brigid was honored as the foster mother of Christ, although she lived in Ireland during the fifth and sixth centuries, hundreds of years after his birth. The Scottish writer William Sharp, writing under the name Fiona Macleod, drew on this older tradition in “Mary of the Gael,” first published in 1895. His story connected Brigid with the Scottish island of Iona, a connection for which there is no established evidence in earlier local folklore.
In Sharp's story, Brigid grows up on Iona. After drinking from the Fountain of Youth on Iona, Brigid follows a white bird through an arch of intertwined rowan trees. She finds herself in Bethlehem, where her father is an innkeeper and her life on Iona seems like a distant dream. When Mary and Joseph arrive seeking shelter, Brigid gives them food and finds them a place to sleep in a stable.
After Jesus is born, Mary places the infant in Brigid's arms. She wraps him in her mantle and cares for him through the night, singing while Mary sleeps. At dawn, Mary kisses Brigid's forehead and names her “Muime Chriosd” (“Foster-Mother of Christ”). Brigid eventually returns to Iona.
In Duncan's painting, two angels carry the sleeping Brigid across the sea toward Bethlehem. Their elaborate robes contain miniature scenes from the life of Christ. The seascape reflects Duncan's fascination with the Outer Hebrides and Iona, with seabirds and a seal accompanying the angels.
John Duncan was born in Dundee, Scotland, in 1866. He began his career as an illustrator in Dundee, worked as a commercial artist in London, and later studied in Antwerp and Düsseldorf. He became a leading figure in the Scottish Celtic Revival, drawing inspiration from Celtic mythology, medieval manuscripts, and Italian Renaissance painting. His work included murals, book illustrations, stained glass, and decorative paintings, often using tempera. He died in Edinburgh in 1945.

The federal energy regulator, led by a Trump appointee, is reviewing an application for an underwater AI data center in Alaska's Cook Inlet.
Among the first of its kind in American waters.
350 turbines. 66 server "hives." Sunk into the seafloor.
Only about 330 endangered belugas are left in Cook Inlet, down from roughly 1,300 in 1979. The Center for Biological Diversity says the site would sit inside their critical habitat.
They can't see through the glacial silt, so they talk, and they click to find food. Mothers and calves use a special call to stay in touch, and scientists say ship noise can drown it out.
The Center for Biological Diversity warns that noise from building and running those turbines could disrupt how belugas feed and communicate, and push them out of habitat they need.
It's not just the whales. A commercial fishing group says DeepGreen never studied the impact on the 1,300+ active fishing permits in Upper Cook Inlet.
DeepGreen's parent company was formed in January 2026. It has no public website, and its Delaware filings don't say who owns it.
The Alaska Energy Authority says DeepGreen never even contacted them, despite the company claiming ties to the state's own power grid project, and called facts in DeepGreen's filing "dead wrong." Regulators also found DeepGreen never notified the city of Kenai or identified the tribes and Alaska Native corporations affected. DeepGreen fixed it a week later, only after regulators flagged it.
At this point, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission is only deciding whether to let DeepGreen study the site. And even past surveys in Cook Inlet needed federal permission to disturb them. As far as the reporting shows, DeepGreen doesn't have it.
The belugas can't speak up in this review. You can. Tell the commission to deny this application.

Memo: The American people want “substantial change.”
A new AP-NORC poll reports that most voters want major change in Washington ahead of this year’s midterms. The poll reports that a combined 80% of registered voter respondents said they want either “complete and total upheaval” or “substantial change” in the way the country is run — including 97% of Democrats, 90% of independents and 58% of Republicans.
If the Democratic Party thinks that they can just tinker around the edges once they take control of Congress, guess again.
The American people have had enough.
No more failed establishment status quo policies.
The American people want change, REAL change and an agenda that works for the working families of our country.
That means, among other things, passing:
- Medicare for All
- An annual 5% wealth tax on billionaires
- The elimination of a corrupt campaign finance system
- Raising the minimum wage to at least $20 an hour
- Expanding Social Security by scrapping the cap
- Free tuition at public colleges and medical and nursing schools
- Universal childcare
- Building 7 million affordable homes & apartments
- A moratorium on AI data centers
- An end to never-ending wars and U.S. support for the extremist Israeli government
The American people have had enough. They want a government that delivers for working families, not just the 1%. The Democrats must deliver.

The United States is led by a man who is a narcissist, sociopath, pathological liar, serial criminal, adjudicated rapist, shameless grifter, pedophile, traitor, Manchurian candidate, habitual fraudster, and useful idiot. With dementia.
He oversees a country at war, that is in deep debt, with high costs and sky-high fuel prices, who is alienating allies, and defying Democracy by jousting with the judiciary and pummeling the press.
He is traveling the country spewing semi-intelligible syllables, asking you to please vote for candidates who will facilitate his ability to increase his power and he asks you to vote as if he himself is on the ballot.
I live in these United States and believe we need to rise up in unison in the loudest voice possible, and vote in a way that tells him to f*ck all the way off.
It should be so loud in its disdain for him and so definitive in its rebuke of what he is and what he is trying to engineer, that it reaches even into every market and every demographic with authority. And it needs to be forceful and unquestioned, so that he and his capos and their minions' sinister shenanigans aimed at retaining power are equally - and publicly - rebuked.

The endless prairie skies of Saskatchewan and Manitoba.
The lakes and forests of Ontario and Quebec.
The red soil and rolling hills of Prince Edward Island.
The rugged coastline of Newfoundland and Labrador.

You’re the northern lights dancing above Yukon, the Northwest Territories and Nunavut.
You’re the Atlantic crashing against the rocks, the Pacific stretching toward the horizon and the Arctic reminding us just how vast this country really is.
You’re canoeing across a still lake at sunrise, with nothing but the sound of a paddle dipping into the water.
You’re the haunting call of a loon across the lake.
The smell of pine trees after the rain.
The crunch of autumn leaves under your boots.
You’re cottage docks, swimming holes, fishing trips, portages and the sound of rain on a tent roof.
You’re campfires, s’mores, mosquito bites and someone insisting they know a shortcut back to the campsite.
You’re a marshmallow catching fire while three people shout conflicting instructions.
You’re Saturday mornings at the rink.
Skates drying by the door.
Frozen ponds, backyard hockey and road hockey games interrupted by someone yelling, “CAR!”
You’re snow days, snow forts, toboggan hills and the first warm afternoon in spring when everyone suddenly appears outside.
You’re poutine, butter tarts, Nanaimo bars, Montreal bagels, Halifax donairs and sirop d’érable poured generously over Sunday pancakes.
You’re maple trees turning brilliant red in October.
The first snowfall in November.
The last stubborn snowbank in April.
And the annual Canadian tradition of declaring winter officially over about six weeks too early.
You’re the neighbour who shovels your driveway without being asked.
The stranger who helps push your car out of a snowbank.
The person who holds the door for someone twenty feet away, leaving both of them in an awkward little race to be polite.
You’re communities that come together when someone loses a home, faces a tragedy or simply needs a hand.
You’re the people whose families have lived here for generations and those who arrived yesterday, carrying their hopes for a better life.
You’re English and French, Indigenous languages and hundreds of others spoken around kitchen tables across this enormous country.
You’re accents that change from one province to the next.
You’re kitchen parties, community rinks, summer festivals, farmers’ markets and neighbours gathering around a backyard fire.
You’re small towns where everybody knows everybody.
And big cities where people from every corner of the world have found a place to belong.
You’re not perfect, Canada.
There are painful chapters in your history, injustices that must be confronted and promises still waiting to be fulfilled.
We disagree. We argue. We complain about the weather, the government, the price of groceries and the Leafs.
But when something truly matters, we have an extraordinary capacity to come together.
We’ve given the world discoveries that saved lives.
Inventions that changed industries.
Music that moved generations.
Stories that travelled across oceans.
Athletes who inspired millions.
And ordinary people who accomplished extraordinary things.
Yet some of the best things about you aren’t famous at all.
They’re the little things.
A canoe on a quiet lake.
A familiar song on the radio.
The smell of a campfire.
A hockey game on a frozen pond.
Fresh snow falling beneath a streetlight.
A neighbour waving from across the street.
A loon calling somewhere in the distance.
The sound of laughter around a kitchen table.
The feeling of coming home.
Because that’s what you are, Canada.
Not just a country on a map.
Not just a flag, a border or a collection of provinces and territories.
You’re the memories we carry.
The stories we tell.
The people we love.
The places we miss when we’re away.
From coast to coast to coast, we’re different in a thousand ways.
And somehow, through all those differences, we share something that feels unmistakably like home.
So here’s to you, Canada.
Not because we’re better than anyone else.
Not because we’ve got everything figured out.
And certainly not because we’re perfect.
But because you’re ours.
Our landscapes. Our stories. Our laughter. Our memories.
Our home.
And sometimes, in a world that seems determined to remind us of everything that’s wrong, it’s worth remembering just how much there is to love.
With love, eh?

TWENTY BILLION DOLLARS IN RUSSIAN OIL ASSETS AND GUESS WHOSE FRIENDS ARE FIRST IN LINE
Lukoil is selling off its international empire. Oil fields. Refineries. Gas stations spanning the globe. Valued at twenty billion dollars
Who's bidding. A guy named Todd Boehly who personally handed Trump's political operation two million dollars
Standing next to him. Investors out of Abu Dhabi controlled by Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed
The same sheikh who just bought a massive stake in Steve Witkoff's company. Witkoff. Trump's handpicked envoy supposedly negotiating peace, not profit
Then there's Kushner and Ivanka Trump. Business partners with the Qatari al-Khayyat brothers. The same brothers circling this exact deal
Donald Trump waives sanctions on Russia days before they take effect. No explanation given to the public. None
And the people positioned to cash in on that exact decision are his son-in-law's business partners, his envoy's new investor, and a two-million-dollar donor
Ukraine loses territory and leverage. Americans lose a law their own Congress passed to choke Putin's war machine
Mitch McConnell objects. Susan Collins objects. Republicans objects. Doesn't matter. Trump signs it anyway
Putin's own envoy is on Telegram calling this a historic moment. He's not wrong. Historic for who gets rich
Frozen Russian reserves. Pipeline access. Investment projects. All of it opening up right as Trump's inner circle lines up at the door
This isn't foreign policy. This is a liquidation sale with Trump's family and friends holding the only invitations
And every ordinary American paying more at the pump gets to watch Trump's in-laws get richer off the deal that caused it
Remember this the next time they tell you sanctions relief is about diesel prices

🚨 EXTREMELY IMPORTANT — PLEASE READ AND SHARE THIS.
Something extremely important is happening right now on the world stage, and I don’t believe nearly enough people understand just how big this story really is.
Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff are pushing European leaders to release billions in frozen Russian assets and place them under American financial control.
But my friends, this is about much more than frozen Russian money. Much more than Ukraine. And much more than what is being reported in the headlines.
We are talking about Russia, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, American investors, oil and gas pipelines, and people inside Donald Trump’s closest circle.
I have been warning about these connections since Trump returned to the White House. And what my sources are telling me is that this did not happen overnight.
I put together a detailed investigation and a chart connecting the people, the money, the reported deals, and the timeline so you can see for yourself how these relationships intersect.
We are witnessing the early stages of something much bigger: a potential effort to bring Russia back into the global financial system, with billions of dollars at stake.
And what I am hearing suggests there is much more to come.
I’m asking every one of you to take a few minutes to read this investigation, study the chart, and SPREAD IT FAR AND WIDE.
Restack it. Share it. Send it to your friends and family. Help get this information outside our echo chambers.
Because understanding what is happening behind closed doors is essential to holding those in power accountable.

BREAKING: Billionaire Sir Richard Branson unleashes a SCORCHING attack on Trump and his disgusting cozying up to Russian dictator Vladimir Putin.
This is EXACTLY the kind of thing that gets under Trump's skin...
"I thought I’d never have to say this in my lifetime, but this is 2026, and sadly nothing is what it used to be," Branson, the founder of Virgin Group, wrote on LinkedIn. "The Trump administration has become an appeaser to autocrats and dictators, putting their personal whims before the best interests of the American people and those of the free world. What is it about Putin that President Trump fawns over?"
"How will America’s allies ever be able to trust this administration again when they are now turning against them at a time of war and suffering?" he asked.
Trump has repeatedly betrayed our Ukrainian allies in recent days. First, he announced a stunning deal with Putin to allow millions of barrels of diesel into the global markets, a move that will directly pump money into the Russian war machine. Then, he began a concerted smear campaign against President Zelenskyy and said that Putin is easier to deal with.
The backstabbing escalated when Washington failed to provide its usual early warning to Kyiv of an incoming Russian ballistic missile attack. Now, it appears that the White House ordered a temporary disruption of Starshield, a military version of Elon Musk's Starlink that the Ukrainian armed forces rely upon.
"The slowdown of Starlink/Starshield and the inexplicable lack of advance warning of Russian missile launches have already caused Ukrainian civilians to die unnecessarily," wrote Branson. "How much worse can it get?"
"If one thing is clear it’s that European leaders must overcome the initial shock about Trump’s recent actions and step up to the plate. It’s as much about Europe’s freedom as it is about Ukraine’s sovereignty. Both are worth fighting for," he continued. "All options should be on the table now, from the transfer of frozen Russian assets to Ukraine to the delivery of advanced weapons systems such as Germany’s Taurus."
"Why oh why is this happening? We cannot let the free world be dismantled before our very eyes," Branson concluded.
We couldn't agree more. Trump is an enemy to Ukraine, an enemy to democracy, and an enemy to the American people. When Democrats retake power, we have our work cut out for us. Every last trace of this monstrous man's legacy must be erased.
Please ❤️ and share if you think that Trump is Putin's puppet!
