Ecologists love response ratios for meta-analysis❤️
But… they can’t be converted into other effect sizes—making it impossible to have a unified dataset of all published effect sizes in ecology
I fixed this with a conversion to Hedges’ d !!

A couple of months ago a paper in @science used a "meta-analysis" to summarise the evidence on the success of conservation action. @metanutter & I had a look at the paper and identified a number of issues that are applicable to many such papers 1/11
