Myopia control is exploding, and there is a strong need to prevent children from progressing into deeper myopia at a rapid rate. However, a myope is still a myope. Even a “low” myope at -1.00 D statically is often more than double the risk for eye diseases later in life. Therefore, the prime focus should go to prevention on the front end, and myopia control on the back-end. I propose that prevention starts not with distance viewing, screen time, time outdoors, etc, it starts with values, value of healthy relationships, value of beauty, value of music, value of creation—these values need to be taught and well ingrained up to and slightly past the age of puberty. Language can be using music and stories. Math can be taught with art and relational transaction in the form of play. 30 minutes per day for reading is technically all that’s need compulsory. Realistic art can teach many things from physics/science to history and even logical extrapolation all the while promoting sensory integration. Since we know peripheral integration (especially the lack thereof) is the driver of myopia development and progression, how is a child supposed to know to value those thing when 1)it isn’t taught and 2)they are made to do things that’s are antagonistic to peripheral integration. Get these children creating beauty! #myopia #vision #eyes #optometry

I just realized that even the way I cleaned out is myopic. Vision touches every part of life. My wife, who is farsighted, starts with her most obvious looking, out in the open messes, and consolidates it. I always start with the dishes from one spot and move outward. She starts outward and moves inward. Inwards to outward is the mind of the myope, unless trained otherwise for a specific situation. #vision #lenses #myopia #farsightedness #glasses #CleanUp #clean

Fixing many problems in society requires fixing schooling. Not fixing the schools, but schooling. It’s completely unnatural to have kids in these 💩holes. Nothing is natural about them. 3-4 hours per day is enough time to become very literate. The rest of the day should be spent in working, exploration, relationships, and creating.

The amount of time indoors spent by these kids is the reason why the #myopia rate is as high as it is.

The amount of anxiety in children is unreal.

A common and reasonable objection to my premise in myopia is the structural difference of a nearsighted eye vs a farsighted eye. The assumption from this objection is that the structure cannot change. My response is that the wall and structure of the eye is collagen, it is a living tissue perfumed with blood, it also contains cells. It is not dead. It is also subject to the structural stressed of striated muscle, just like bone, which is much harder, and even bones change as a result of changes to striated muscle action. #myopia #vision #eyes #optometry #glasses #lenses

It’s interesting to see the people who leave a religion, and go into academia and participate in the same practices for which they criticize that religion. youtu.be/fvwmPfuZ8_U?si=zox6… via @YouTube

Volume! It all comes down to volume. Whether you are doing #myopia #management, with contacts etc, it’s all about volume. Voluminous Viewing is what is needed.

Many people get confused with the Bates Method on “central fixation.” I truly think we must abandon that archaic and obsolete phraseology that was left to rot in Bates Method circles. Don’t get me wrong. I loved reading Bates, but he was not attached to a certain way of doing things. As one who struggled and even had myopia that worsened with even Bates, I will say, there is a better way than Bates Method. #myopia #vision #eyes #bates #method #BatesMethod #glasses #worsened #eyes #doctor #optometry #optometrist #opthalmology #myopia_control #myopia_management #contacts #lenses

Whatever “controls” are put in place for anything. Whether it is GLP-1 for obesity, drugs for depression, or optical or pharmaceutical myopia interventions. One cannot use artificial means to manage something only and expect it to catch up with one decades later. For the glp-1 user, movement and nutrition is still very important, low stress and happiness for mental health is just as important. And even if one stopped myopia in its tracks with an optical intervention, one cannot ignore the lifestyle changes that should take place. The body will not be mocked. A modern intervention is not a pass for modern bodily abuse. Stressors must be displaced somewhere and somehow. If not for elongation of the eyes, it will be elsewhere. If not for increasing adipose tissue, another tissue will bear the cost. No one is exempt. Use the tools, but stop the abuse against the body for which the original problem existed. #GLP1 #myopia #glasses #eye #vision #abuse #body

I have always said that AC is the worst invention for vision development either, more than TVs and mobile devices. It allows children to stay inside and not get the vision benefits from full spectrum lighting as well as the fresh air.
Honestly, sometimes I rue the invention of AC. Without it, we wouldn’t have a Yankee invasion of the South. My ancestors coped with Georgia in the 18th century. I’m built for it. 😅 Lack of AC would save the South for the Southerners.

A school moved recess outdoors. One year later, the rate of new nearsightedness was less than HALF that of a nearby comparison school. The study followed 571 children aged 7–11 in Taiwan. One school encouraged children outside during its 80 minutes of daily recess; the other continued its usual routine. Among children who started without myopia: • Outdoor-recess school: 8.41% developed myopia. • Comparison school: 17.65%. That’s about 52% lower incidence. The change was remarkably ordinary: children spent their breaks outdoors instead of staying in the classroom. This was a two-school comparison, rather than a randomized trial. But a later randomized study across 12 schools found that adding 40 minutes outdoors each school day also reduced new myopia over three years. Sunlight’s contribution here concerns the developing eye. Bright outdoor light is being investigated for its role in regulating eye growth, while outdoor breaks also interrupt prolonged close-up work. The strongest finding is about helping children avoid becoming nearsighted in the first place. And they don’t need to spend those breaks baking in direct sun. A later trial measuring light exposure identified longer outdoor time in places such as under trees as a useful option.

“For whom he did FOREKNOW, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son” It seems that Jonathan Edwards was more in love with TULIP than he was with God’s word that he would go as far as to directly contradict scriptures.
I would have never chosen Christ if He hadn’t chosen me first.
