From Dr. Trickett, Superintendent of the Wilson School District: "Dear Wilson Families, We want to make you aware of an incident that occurred during the Wilson High School varsity football game at Governor Mifflin High School on Friday evening, August 28. During the game, a student reported that another student had a weapon. In response, Governor Mifflin’s Safe Schools team and local police immediately implemented their district’s safety protocols, which included clearing the stadium. Governor Mifflin has provided the following statement regarding the incident: “At the Governor Mifflin High School football game this evening, a student reported that another student was in possession of a weapon. Governor Mifflin's Safe Schools team, along with local police, immediately acted in accordance with district safety protocol in response to this report. Upon investigation, the student in question was not found to be in possession of any weapons, nor were any weapons discovered on campus.” We recognize that an incident like this is unsettling for students and families. Any Wilson High School student who would like support processing what occurred is welcome to come to the Wilson High School Library on Saturday, August 29, at 10:00 a.m. Counselors will be available to provide support and assistance.
