Accountability requires coordinated investigations, information-sharing, and judicial cooperation among all affected states to identify cross-border patterns, dismantle the proxy networks enabling transnational repression, and end impunity. New Summons for Lina Attalah Law and Democracy Support Foundation (LDSF) condemns the summons issued to Lina Attalah, Editor-in-Chief of Mada Masr, to appear before Egypt’s Supreme State Security Prosecution in a new case, marking the sixth case targeting the outlet and its journalists in recent years. The continued prosecution of journalists for their professional work undermines press freedom, restricts the right to information, and further shrinks the space for independent media. We call for the case against Lina Attalah to be dropped, for an end to the harassment of journalists, and for the protection of independent journalism and freedom of expression in Egypt. #LinaAttalah
