WORLD FOOD DAY 2026: FROM INNOVATION TO ACTION – REFLECTING ON RWANDA’S CELEBRATIONS
What were the highlights of this year’s World Food Day celebrations in Rwanda? What lessons have emerged, and how can we turn the conversations and commitments into lasting action for our agrifood systems?
Following a week of activities and engagements across the country, join us for a special World Food Day 2026 X Space under the theme “Innovate Today. Nourish Tomorrow.”
The celebrations have been driven by the collaboration and partnership of the Ministry of Agriculture and Animal Resources (MINAGRI), the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), and the World Food Programme (WFP). Together with farmers, development partners, agriculture and food systems leaders, young people, and agriculture influencers, these institutions have helped advance conversations and action towards transforming Rwanda’s agrifood systems.
We will reflect on the activities, initiatives, and experiences from the celebrations, highlighting the role of innovation, partnerships, farmers, and young people in building a more sustainable and food-secure future.
