He also underscored the importance of digital innovation, climate action, environmental protection and inclusive development, stressing that there can be no sustainable development without peace, and no lasting peace without sustainable development.

I joined PM Nawaf Salam in a meeting with senior UN officials responsible for the humanitarian response.
The meeting underscored the importance of securing additional funding for the humanitarian response in Lebanon, given the continuing needs, particularly in the south. It also stressed the need to maintain support for displaced people who have not yet been able to return, while providing increased assistance to those who have returned and to residents who have remained in the affected areas.

On the margins of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly in New York, I took part in a series of high-level ministerial meetings.
I attended a meeting convened by Jordan, Spain and Brazil on safeguarding UNRWA, protecting its humanitarian work and upholding the mandate given to it by the UN General Assembly.
I also joined the second ministerial meeting of the Rome Coalition on Fertilizers and Food Security, which focused on the growing challenges to global food security, particularly in light of tensions in the Strait of Hormuz, the Red Sea and the Black Sea.

Lebanon serving as Vice-President of the 81st Session of the UN General Assembly, chaired the High-Level Meeting on Addressing the Existential Threats Posed by Sea-Level Rise and presided over the General Debate during the High-Level Week of #UNGA81.
Today, Lebanon participated in the high-level meeting marking the 25th anniversary of the Durban Declaration and Programme of Action, reaffirming its commitment to combating racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia and related intolerance in all their forms. 🇱🇧🇺🇳
