It would be nice if we could save ยฃ45 a week instead of ยฃ45 a year. Scrapping the standing charge on gas bills is a good move, but the people struggling the most need more.

A simple trellis lath calculator created for me by ChatGPT. I told it what I wanted it to do with a few simple prompts. It works out the amount of laths, depending on overall size and size of the internal squares, and how many packs I need based on either 3.6m or 4.2m batons.

Lowering the tax manufacturers pay on a few essential household food items is set to save you 40 pence a week on your shopping bill. It's at this point that I start to wonder whether the government is simply reaching for the most ineffectual measures in its mission to ease the cost of living. They may be the easiest things to implement immediately, but a whole series of useless, piddling little attempts at appeasement doesn't really add up to much of a hill of beans, in my opinion.
'Your own figures says that will save the average household 40p a week' Business Secretary Jonathan Reynolds was questioned on #BBCBreakfast about plans to remove import taxes on marmalade, gherkins and more than 100 products in a move aimed at giving families "breathing space" with the cost of living bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c6d9โ€ฆ

Bag O' Bones used to be my nickname in year 7, especially from the girls. There was a ditty they used to sing, and it went a little something like this: Lee Jones, bag o' bones, Sailing down the river, Bumped his cock on a rock, And made his belly shiver. Childish.

I've just found out that Walter Koenig has passed away, aged 90. RIP Pavel. May you navigate well. Of the original Star Trek crew, only the captain and his helmsman remain.

I thought it was 12:45 pm, but it's actually 1:45 pm. It's not even that hour we gained yesterday because it would be 2:45 pm now if we hadn't. I've managed to lose an hour the day after the clocks gave me a free one. I am so confused.

So, prepare ourselves for war within 1,000 days. That takes us to roughly July 2029. Prepare also for shortages of pasta and toilet paper, while the usual conglomerates make another shit-ton of money out of us. It's despicable that we continually have to put up with this.

Single figure temperature in my workshop this morning. (9ยฐC!) The convection heater in the office is on full at 2,000W and is just about keeping the chill away and it's not even winter yet.

How some people can have a problem with poppies is beyond me. It was originally intended as a reminder of those who died in war, not to tell the living what they should believe. It's a symbol of remembrance, but for some idiots it's a symbol of political allegiance.
