One thing I do give myself credit for with LeftieStats is that when people told me "this design is horrible and I can't understand the data" I changed it immediately

One of my design philosophies with infographics was always: "Too much information is bad". If people cannot immediately understand the broad point of what your infographic is saying within 5 seconds, it's not social media-ready.

It is important to point out that even if he were guilty of minor plagiarism, that is not a death penalty offence!! What was done to him was objectively wrong. The media campaign against Jason (including a certain "left" outlet) was never about academia, it was racism.

Some said I'm "overthinking" this or picking holes in a "general" point, but it's emblematic of a persistent belief on the ex-Corbyn left - namely, that practical reality is irrelevant, and "the membership(TM)" can smash through all obstacles by sheer unified willpower. It can't.
"Mental health clinics" run by untrained, unpaid Green Party-affiliated volunteers with no qualifications or background checking?? Bruh do you hear yourself? These ideas are absurd! The entire thing would be a gigantic disaster for patients, volunteers and the party. Christ.

Your Party = perfect microcosm of this. Every obvious barrier and challenge was immediately dismissed, on the basis that "the membership" would solve it. Anyone who asked practical questions, shouted down on the basis that "hope" and "the membership" would fix it. Now it's dead.

If you seek to engage in electoral politics (and win power) then there are basic logistical problems to consider, from GDPR to hiring practices to basic electoral law. YP saw all of these problems as irrelevant distractions. The Greens did not. Hence their relative status.

Trump's regime is so wild because American liberals have spent 70 years insisting that the CIA has never made any efforts to overthrow socialist governments overseas, and then Trump's boys just go "yeah so actually we have been doing that the whole time, and it's awesome"/

We are not trying to win over 50% of the vote, but rather to relentlessly target ~20% of the electorate and solidify them as loyal Green voters through polarisation. I'd rather have 20% favourability and win 50 seats, than have 50% favourability and win 1 seat (like in 2019).
Polanski loses to everyone, even Farage. At what point do members of @TheGreenParty acknowledge he’s driving them into the ground?

I was having a think about this clip, at first I got what he was saying - but then I realised when he compared to Nigel’s strategy. The comparison was off. Nigel 5 years wasn’t saying “afghani goat herders are stealing your jobs and selling drugs to white girls” Back then it was “you go on a train and in certain parts of london you don’t hear english” He was good at reading the temperature and slowly turning the dial up gradually as people shifted. I would argue it is that understanding of where the acceptable boundary is and constantly pushing up against that which is his biggest strength. Green party should have focused on big community action movements. Organising local groups to help homeless, help people with finding work, mental health clinics, litter picks - clear visible presence in every day British life and showing your values not just telling people them. I’m sure some do this, but given the membership base and the size of the online audience you could have been doing some very big visible & impactful stuff like that. E.g Put 1000 green party members in clacton to help tidy up the town - when farage isn't there This would be a stronger stratergy imo

Electoralist political parties are not equipped to provide government services through unpaid labour conducted by untrained partisan volunteers. Labour, with all its resources and members, couldn't even organise a concert lol These are not serious suggestions.

Since Jimmy brings up finance, I want to emphasise that is very illegal to raise party funds for a specific purpose (election campaigning) and then use that money to finance activities that are entirely different and not within the remit of your body. It's a criminal offence!

When I was in primary school I got called into a private room by three staff because I fidgeted a lot. They instructed me to stay absolutely still for 15 minutes while they stood around me in a circle and anytime I moved or fidgeted they would shout and scream at me as punishment
On fidget toys🧵🪡 A disruptive girl was sent to my room recently. I was warned she was difficult and as soon as she walked in she commented how nervous she was because she’d heard I was strict. As she sat down she produced a large soft gel type fidget toy. It was a comforter.

Just wanted to send my love to everyone who has stood up for me against some very nasty online trolls ❤️ It's very easy to feel alone and unsupported when you're being swarmed by some deeply unpleasant people, but I've seen so much support and it's helped a lot 🥹

To save you clicking on the link, the so-called controversial chant in question was: “From The River To The Sea Palestine Will Be Free" According to Lee, the very idea of freeing Palestine is "controversial" and worthy of media condemnation.

What this article shows is that the Optics Left openly seek to deprive Green conference of its policy-making powers. They know a haphazard collection of vaguely-defined "groups" and thinktanks (assembled by party officials, not members) will be far easier to control.
Joe Todd argues the Greens need “a credible programme to transition away from capitalism – not only imagining the end of capitalism and what might come next, but planning in painstaking detail just how we are going to get there.”

Handing thinktanks, rural conservative farmers and curtain-twitching "community groups" total control over our party's program is a blatant attempt to disempower members and put MPs + officials in full control of policy. All this, just because members said that Zionism is wrong.

🚨Shocking stuff. The Zionist faction within Greens have immediately embraced a dictator mindset, and are seeking to rig party rules in their favour BEFORE spring conference, without seeking consent of members. This is, of course, unconstitutional. These people have no shame.
Senior Green Party figures are looking into ways of clarifying or revising the controversial 'Zionism is racism' motion in the next few months, PolHome understands Green MP Sian Berry said she wanted the party to have a "package" ready for its spring conference @zoenora6 & @matilda__martin report politicshome.com/news/articl…

There is no means by which the party can alter its rules and procedures BEFORE conference, and party-wide ballots may only be held with the consent of conference. These rules are very, very clear. Unelected party officials in central HQ cannot simply overrule our Constitution.

SfL has been noticeably absent for months, and it has been obvious to me for a while that there was no feasible way for it to continue. But with my health continuing to decline, I decided to just let it go. There's never a good time for this stuff. Might as well be today.

It should be said that I'm discussing physical health here, and although my mental health is not good (and has not been for a long time) I am safe, supported and loved in that regard.
