Lindsey Graham & Jim Clyburn were under FBI investigation, as part of a potentially explosive corruption probe in S Carolina.
Then Trump purged the anti-corruption teams at DOJ & the case died.

“Moreover, the agency had been directed not to alert the voting machine company if it uncovered flaws, contrary to its standard practices.”
ProPublica: Trump Appointees Wanted a Voting Machine Hacked
A few months into President Donald Trump’s second term, political appointees at the Department of Homeland Security made an unusual request of its agency focused on cybersecurity: Secretly acquire a voting machine and hack it.
The appointees wanted the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency to procure the machine, examine it and report back the findings so they could be given to the White House, according to two former administration officials with knowledge of the request.

Anthropic is effectively telling the government that they should be allowed to facilitate the deaths of up to 50 people per model and cause up to a billion dollars in damages before the government should consider stepping in to stop them. Insane.
From an Israeli intel official in NAZA:
“I hack into the phone of a 12 year old girl. If a girl calls her mom, ‘Mummy,’ she says, ‘when are you returning home? Daddy just came back.’ That’s a message that would alert the system bc it contains the words ‘return’ and ‘daddy.’”
This builds on @yuval_abraham’s previous reporting on the (incomprehensibly evil) “Where’s Daddy” program the IDF built to learn when fathers were at home with their children so they could kill then all at once (along with anyone else killed in the building during the attack).

Exclusive: In late 2024, FBI agents were looking at Sen. Susan Collins’ role in a massive illegal bribery scheme alleged by a former federal contractor. Then Trump gutted the FBI and DOJ, leaving no one to carry on the investigation – it’s dead. 🧵

OpenAI's President Greg Brockman, when told his company had hacked the NYT paywall to scrape the site, responded with "ah nice."
That's a straightforward criminal violation of the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act. OpenAI executives in jail.
Replying to @jason_kint
Blood boiling. Not a good look for OpenAI or Greg Brockman here:

The latest column from @AsteadWH nails the real issue underneath the Piker obsession. As I wrote in May for @TheProspect, it's all Third Way trying to delegitimate progressive organizing infrastructure and entrench oligarchic influence
(link ⬇️)
As promised: I wrote through my thoughts for this week's newsletter
What is at the root of the endless focus on a singular Twitch streamer? In my opinion, it's all about 2028.
"I think we should read this as an effort to build an early litmus test for the upcoming presidential primary. Less of a try at “canceling” Piker, and more of an attempt to create an environment so controversial around him that his stream — and his ideas — become a net negative for progressive candidates. And cut off a source of important fundraising and independent messaging for the left ahead of party-defining moment. The goal is to both limit Piker’s own reach and open up new lines of attack against his allies, who are seeing right now they will be dogpiled with questions about any associations they have with him."
So in a sense, it's already worked.

The government just gave a charity being sued for s*x trafficking a $244 MILLION no-bid contract to provide lawyers to migrant kids. Put it out Friday night with no announcement. They are keeping this quiet and for a good reason.
It's the "Sound of Freedom" charity, OUR Rescue, formerly known as Operation Underground Railroad. They have zero immigration lawyers, zero federal contracts, ever, and their lifetime federal history is one transaction...this one.
The kids' real lawyers? The government owed them $65M and refused to pay unless they handed over the children's confidential files. They refused and their contract died.
I spent 2 days following the money and it's dark: a Dubai shell company, the founder's family on the payroll, contractors listed as "anonymous individuals," and a DC company registered 13 months before the contract, with the CEO named as beneficial owner.
They knew.
Full investigation and what we can do about it is up on my Substack now (link in bio) and it's free.

Donald Trump is not himself the disease of our politics. He's just the worst symptom.
The disease is the system that allows corporations, special interests, and billionaires to buy and sell politicians to rig the system against us.
It's the reason we pay more for the stuff we gotta buy, get paid less for the work we do, and watch as our tax dollars buy bombs and tanks for other countries rather than schools and healthcare for our own.
If we're serious about taking it on, we need to get money out of politics, put money in your pockets, and pass Medicare for All.

Bombshell: Leaked audio recordings prove Argentina's libertarian President Javier Milei is conspiring with the drug lord Juan Orlando Hernández -- the drug-trafficking former dictator of Honduras, whom Trump freed from prison.
In a recording between Milei and the drug lord, Hernández proposed creating a right-wing fake news operation, with the support of the US government, in order to spread propaganda online to "eliminate the left" in Latin America, targeting Mexico, Brazil, Colombia, Venezuela, and the left-wing opposition in Honduras.
The self-declared "anarcho-capitalist" Milei offered to contribute $350,000 USD of Argentine government money to help fund this disinformation operation, while millions of Argentines are suffering in poverty, and they have to eat donkey meat, because they can't afford local beef.
