A little #JustWriteNovember day 5 update before I stay off of this app for next 24ish hours- going to do some personal journaling again after finishing my German homework- what a relief it will be to write in English again after that!
Day 4 of #JustWriteNovember- doing a little personal journaling. I often draw from personal journals (sometimes even directly) to craft pieces, so I consider it an important kind of notetaking part of my writing process
Day 3 of #JustWriteNovember - did a first draft of a Substack newsletter to come out later in the month. For those interested, I write about navigating the world as an autistic, chronically ill, and Southern person with an anarchist political perspective: theautisticasshole.substack.β¦
Day 2 of #JustWriteNovember- drafted my upcoming Substack newsletter, hoping to publish on Monday! For those interested, I write about the experience of being autistic, chronically ill, and, well, just being myself: theautisticasshole.substack.β¦
Joining @BethanyJarmul for #JustWriteNovember- will post every day for accountability! Today, as part of working on a longer piece (not sure if this is book-length yet or not) about my family and home, doing some reflective writing/brainstorming about family and Louisiana
Day 30- last day of @BereketWriters #Submit30 sent to @bansheelit ! This submission challenge has been such a wonderful experience- I've learned so much and just gotten a lot better at putting myself out there.
Continuing to share pieces I've enjoyed from lit mags I've been submitting to as part of @BereketWriters #Submit30- "The Day Shift" by Jeremy Tavares published in @RougarouJournal, about working at a collection agency in Oxford, Mississippi: rougarou.org/2024/05/the-dayβ¦
Day 28 @BereketWriters #Submit30 sent to @RougarouJournal ! Always especially happy to submit to a publication based in Louisiana (my home state)
A really lovely piece by @BethanyJarmul in @brevitymag about all the things you might think about before a scary medical exam: brevitymag.com/current-issueβ¦
Trying to share great pieces I've read while submitting to lit mags this month, this one from @MoisesTheHuman , published in @CraftLiterary is a great meditation on the small things (that end up being the big things) that make a place home: craftliterary.com/2024/09/20β¦
Day 24 of @BereketWriters #Submit30 sent to @MoonCityReview ! 3 flash fiction pieces- one about reading Joyce and feeling out of place in academic settings (this one is autofiction), one about a weird MRI experience (very, veryloosely autofiction), and a really weird funny one
Want to share some of the pieces I've been reading while submitting to lit mags for @BereketWriters #Submit30- a lovely one in @xraylitmag (where I submitted on day 7 of #Submit30) about loss and all the mundane errands you have to run when someone dies: xraylitmag.com/returning-my-β¦
Day 23 of @BereketWriters #Submit30- a funny piece sent to the New Yorker Shouts & Murmurs section, why not? I think it's really funny, maybe they will, too! Also, would love more recommendations of lit mags that publish humor!
Another list for those doing @BereketWriters #Submit30- or for writers just submitting in general!
WE LOVE TO SEE IT.
