Dear neurotwitter: does anyone know of people doing research on dementia using EEG? 🤔

To all computational neuro people: I have a simple task where ppl navigate a hidden maze and have to "discover" the right path through trial and error. I want to do modeling of choices/trials. What would be a good model? Smth with reward learning? 🤔

@ArielleKeller , maybe you know? It's the webneuro maze task, we are trying to model it computationally, somehow.

Fantastic opportunity to work with a stellar mentor!
I am recruiting my first PhD student on the @ERC_Research funded research project DECOMPOSE at the @UniPadova. The focus of the project is identifying active ingredients of psychological interventions for severe mental disorders. cordis.europa.eu/project/id/…

Fantastic study with a brilliant design!
SPIKED: Stanford Placebo vs Intraop Ketamine Evaluated for Depression. We masked ketamine with surgical anesthesia in depressed patients. Full details now published, peer review pending. Huge antidepressant response in both groups. @TheresaLii 1st auth bit.ly/3LMAueK

Interested in MDMA and it's neural mechanism? Today I am presenting our resting-state fMRI data from our mechanistic study in the rising-star session in Aqua EF at SOBP 2023 at 2. 10pm. 😀

Got one into neuron! LMK if you don't have access, but here's the link sciencedirect.com/science/ar…, and I'll explain why I think we're onto something big below:

I'm a causality newbie! I have 2 time series (A&B) and A causes B. My hypothesis is: in group 1 the causal link between A and B will be on avg lower vs group 2. Need to do a power analysis to detect this. Thinking of simulating but not sure how. Maybe @KordingLab has pointers? 😅

Our new paper is out! We did a meta-analysis (618 MDD vs 683 controls) of functional connectivity in and between DMN subsystems in MDD and tested its association with rumination in an independent sample 115 unmedicated anxiety/depression vs 48 controls). doi.org/10.1016/j.nicl.2021.…

We conclude that connectivity of the DMN core is slightly reduced in depression. This difference is small, variable and heterogeneous across sites, so not a promising biomarker. Rumination does not predict DMN subsystem functional connectivity.
