Had a wonderful time at the Charlotte Hematologic Malignancies Congress hosted by @AtriumHealth. Great to connect with the best of Leukemia colleagues with #OslerPride @Dr_AmerZeidan @NGhoshMD @BKRagonMD @beatalleukemia @KatieLaiMD_MPH @UNC_Lineberger
Way to go Angie! We are so proud of you @UNC_Lineberger! @JADPRO
Absolutely heartbreaking! I did not know her but what an incredible person and accomplished physician- a true pioneer in her field. We all mourn her loss!
👉We deeply mourn the loss of our dear friend, loving big sister, co-fellow, world expert, the brilliant light, amazing all-time Dr .@rachnatshroff | May she rest in peace. May her wonderful legacy carry on forever, may we never forget @rachnatshroff 🙏

We are hiring for a Leukemia Investigator at @UNC_Lineberger @UNC_SOM in the Division of Hematology. If you are interested or know anyone interested- please feel free to reach me. Job posting ➡️ unc.peopleadmin.com/postings…
Celebrating promotion to full Professor of Medicine @UNC_Lineberger @UNCDeptMedicine. Lucky & privileged to have the best and most supportive colleagues. I wouldn’t be here without my amazing Team LeukDoc! 🙏
Our RP2 trial of CPX+/-Pomalidomide in Newly Dx AML-MR published in @Haematologica 👇. Very disappointing results for a study that was built on our premise of immune modulation during early recovery after induction. But still a lot to learn and build upon w/ correlates
✨Early 👀 at our RP2 trial: CPX v CPX+POM in AML-MR
🔹+POM did not improve outcomes & was a/w toxicity r/t prolonged myelosuppression
🔹Immune kinetics 📈📉after any AML therapy needs study
🔹🕒 of intervention may be 🔑

Thanks to all from NCI, CTEP and ETCTN for believing in this concept and making the study happen. Thanks to our amazing team @UNC_Lineberger and all collaborators who contributed to this important study @beatalleukemia @DPetersMD @DrChrisHourigan @LugoMd
Fantastic conference chaired by @Daver_Leukemia and great session on menin inhibitors in which we are all excited about combination strategies and moving into frontline Tx. Thanks for inviting me to be part of this program #iwAL26
🧬 Session 10 at #iwAL26: Menin inhibitors in AML, chaired by Naval Daver (@Daver_Leukemia) & Andrew Wei!
From 2nd-gen inhibitors, MEN1 mutations & resistance (Justin Watts), to menin inhibition for MRD (Ghayas Issa/@GhayasIssa), breaking resistance with combos (Emma Searle/@DrEmmaSearle), and menin inhibitor triplets beyond unfit/older AML (Joshua Zeidner/@LeukDocJZ) there was plenty of lively discussion!

Great times with great friends and colleagues @SocietyofHemOnc #SOHO26 @HannahGoulart @calliecoombsmd @sanamloghavi @beatalleukemia @doctorpemm @Daver_Leukemia @wdmarrero
Great to be at #SOHO26 talking about menin inhibitors with the inimitable @GhayasIssa and Jolanta Grembecka @SocietyofHemOnc @UNC_Lineberger
We are entering a new frontier in AML ➡️The Paradigm study now out in @NEJM showing improved EFS in younger non-fav. risk AML Tx with Aza/Ven vs. Intensive chemo. Huge congrats to Amir Fathi & all authors for this incredibly important study & milestone. nejm.org/doi/full/10.1056/NE…

The 1st NextGen Heme Summit in Denver was a success! Kudos to @Daver_Leukemia & Elie Jabbour for running a fantastic meeting w/ great discussions & insight. Best part was catching up with my favorite Myeloid Crew! @AkEisfeld @sanamloghavi @JoeKhouryMD @Daver_Leukemia
Fantastic 🧵 on Menin inhibitors in AML and where the field is going. I believe we are at the tip of the iceberg as the true potential will be in frontline combinations! Short and sweet but great high level overview by @TalhaBadarMD 👇
#Weekend_review #menin_inhibitor #leusm 🧵 Menin inhibitors in AML: biology → approvals → combinations → resistance
1/9
Menin inhibition has rapidly moved from a biological concept to an established therapeutic strategy in AML.
Why does it work?
KMT2A-r and NPM1-mut AML are genetically distinct—but both converge on the HOXA/MEIS1 transcriptional program, which maintains leukemic stemness and blocks differentiation.
Menin helps sustain this program.
Menin interacts with KMT2A and helps maintain transcription of genes including HOXA9 and MEIS1.
Blocking the menin–KMT2A interaction suppresses this leukemic program and promotes myeloid differentiation.
Importantly, mutant NPM1 also creates a transcriptional state dependent on this axis:
KMT2A-r → MENIN/HOX-MEIS ← NPM1-mut
Think of menin inhibition fundamentally as a differentiation strategy, not simply cytotoxic therapy.
Such a great meeting in 🇧🇲! Thanks for the kind invitation to be part of the #DAVAHeme26 🏖️ ☀️ 🛥️ 🐠
Closing out #DAVAHeme 🌊 inspired by the pace of innovation across lymphoma, myeloma, leukemia, and MDS. Four days of incredible science and progress, made possible by our phenomenal faculty. Thank you for generously sharing your time, research, and expertise with all of us! 🙏🏝️
Thanks for inviting me to speak at the Bermuda Heme Malignancies Summit! Excited to highlight our TAGALONG study for Newly Dx AML after prior hypomethylating agents. Always a privilege to be in 🇧🇲 and connect with friends and colleagues.
Dr. Joshua Zeidner (@UNC) highlights the ongoing TAGALONG trial in newly diagnosed AML after prior HMA therapy, building on encouraging triplet data with tagraxofusp + azacitidine + venetoclax, including 69% CRc in AML (median OS 14 months) and 88% CRc in frontline BPDCN with 2-year OS >60%. #DAVAHeme
🚨 🚨 🚨 OPTI-AML published in @BloodPortfolio led by the inimitable @beatalleukemia. This highly impactful study funded by @bcutd_research emphasizes the importance of randomized trials in AML. Grateful to be part of this amazing team with Beat AML 👇
Out in @BloodPortfolio ! OPTI-AML,Ph 2 randomized study of Aza+28D (AV28) vs 14D(AV14) Ven for first 2 cycles in AML pts >=60 yrs. This study generated a LOT of discussion so here are all the relevant details about this first prospective Ven dose optimization study ! 🧵
