NEW: The Racing Foundation is pleased to support three major equine science research projects through the Horserace Betting Levy Board’s 2026 Equine Veterinary Science and Education Programme.
The £200,000 contribution will support pioneering research led by the University of Oxford, University of Nottingham and University of York, focused on tendon injury therapies, injury prevention and Rhodococcus equi infection in young horses.
This latest award takes the Racing Foundation’s total investment in equine science research to more than £2 million, reinforcing its commitment to evidence-based research that delivers practical benefits for Thoroughbred welfare and the long-term sustainability of British racing.
